In case you missed Part 1...
Our party consisted of myself (very plain eater and not very adventurous) & DH (better than me, but not into anything really funky), our 2 DS (they are worse than me and pretty much only eat pizza, macaroni or hotdogs), and my mother (more adventurous than DH & I).

CHEF MICKEY’S BREAKFAST – This is a character meal that we seem to keep returning to. Even after trying a couple others, this stays our favorite.
Upon arrival we checked in and were sent to a short line to wait to get our picture taken. After our picture we were taken to our table right away. We were in the back room, where we have been in the past, but we didn’t mind. I’ve heard people not liking this room, but it’s been ok for us. I didn’t feel like we missed out on anything, but my kids arent big on the characters anyway. We get our picture, sometimes they shake hands, and they are on their way. I did notice when they did the “Celebrate” song, usually only 1 character walked through the room during that time though so I can see how some people might feel that room isn’t the best. We did have good character interaction though, and got to see them all. I still love Goofy at the entrance. We have the best interaction with him. In the past he has fed DS a banana, and gotten the kids down doing push ups with him. This time as I was taping a monorail coming in the building, he came and put his face right up to my camera, LOL!
The food was great as always. My favorites continue to be the Breakfast Pizza, the cheesey potoatos(with bacon bits), and all the donuts & pasteries. Of course I tried a bit of almost everything, and it was all very good and plentiful. Some of the other yummy stuff was a cheese omlette, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, Mickey Waffles, pancakes, and French Toast. There’s a huge variety here. Something that I had read about being served at the Concourse Steak House for breakfast, was also at Chef Mickey’s this time. It was the Sticky Mickeys, sort of a cinnamon roll type thing. I was glad to try one as it was very good.
Service was wonderful too…drinks were refilled promptly and plates removed every time we took a trip to the buffet. Our only complaint here was we never saw our pictures. A few times we saw the girl walking around with them, but she never found us, I guess. In a way it was good because it saved us money, but I would have liked to have seen them.
Once again, we had to be rolled out of here…and it was worth it. These all you can eat meals are dangerous.

PIZZA PLANET- This seems to be another one of our must dos while at MGM. I think the kids just like to go there for the arcade. ;) Here my mother got a Diet Coke and a cheese pizza. The 4 of us had Diet Cokes and split 3 Meal Deals which each consist of a pizza (we got 1 pepperoni & 2 cheese) and salad. For some reason the salads here always seem to hit the spot and the dressing is very good too. The pizzas are tasty and a good size, especially for my kids to share since they don’t eat much. And as always, taking an air conditioned break from the park is always welcome. ::yes::

MAIN ST BAKE SHOP – This is one stop we always have to make after doing Extra Magic Hour at MK. We like to knock out Fantasyland and then go for breakfast and it seems to work well.
I was dying to have my favorite, the French Toast Loaf, but when we got there, there was none. Oh the horror! :teeth: We asked and they said it would be about 15 minutes. Here’s where my eyes got bigger than my stomach and I decided to have a banana nut bread while I waited. DM had wanted the FTL too and she also grabbed a banana nut bread to wait with. That was very good, although it could have had a little more banana flavor to it. When we finally got the French Toast Loaf it was worth the wait. It was very warm and that made it that much better than it usually is. OMG is all I can say! The best way I can describe it is layered bread with butter and cinnamon, covered in a typical French Toast batter and sprinkled with powdered sugar. It was very rich and after having the Banana Bread too I really had to force myself to finish it…but being that it was so good, I wanted to. DH was boring today and had a couple sesame bagels with cream cheese. They were good. The kids both had plain bagels, 1 had it with butter, and 1 had cream cheese. They ate a good amount of the bagels, so again, if they ate it, it must be good.

DOLE WHIPS- According to DS, no trip to MK is complete without a stop at Aloha Isle for Dole Whips. Since we had a late breakfast at the Bake Shop, Dole Whips were just enough for lunch. DM had left to go shopping so the 4 of us split 2 pineapple/vanilla twists and 1 chocolate. These are mainly a soft serve icecream, but the pineapple gives it a nice change from the usual soft serve icecream. They were very tasty and hit the spot on a hot day at the MK.

YACHTSMAN STEAKHOUSE- This was mine & DH’s anniversary dinner while DM took the kids out. We wanted something different and a little nicer than what we usually do with the kids. I had a tough time deciding where, but after going over the menus and deciding we wanted to be in the Epcot area, I finally settled on Yachtsman. I still second guessed myself up until the end. Well, not to toot my own horn, but I did a great job picking! This was an absolutely perfect meal. ::yes::
We arrived about 15-20 minutes early for our 7:00pm PS and were seated within minutes. The restaurant wasn’t very crowded. I made sure to take note of some things I often hear discussed here. We saw kids of all ages there and people in all kinds of attire. This didn’t bother us at all, but since people often ask about that, I thought I would mention it. We were seated away from the windows, in a little cove with just our table and another. The people next to us were leaving so we were basically alone for most of the meal until another family with teens came when we were finishing up.
Now onto the good stuff…We started off with a drink. DH had a Sam Adams which was served in a huge glass that looked like a chalice. The glass itself was very heavy and it was frosty. It was so cold there was ice on top of the beer. DH already loved this place. ;) I got a White Russian which was very well made. I was also given a water without asking and I was glad because I was very thirsty. We then got a Caesar salad to split, which they brought in 2 separate plates for us. This was a great salad and the flavor of the dressing was perfect. With our meals we split a side of creamed spinach, which was covered with melted cheese. I had never had this before but for some reason it looked appealing to me. We were both surprised that we loved it, and we finished it all. For our entrees, DH had the Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes, and I had the Prime Rib, also with potatoes. These steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted great. They were very tender and flavorful. I cant even describe the mashed potatoes, but they were amazing. They had a different flavor to them, that we just couldn’t place. Whatever it was, we loved it. If anyone knows where to find that recipe, please direct me to it. I should mention here that Im not usually a big fan of mashed potatoes. Ill eat them and I like them, but when I get my choice of a side at a restaurant mashed isn’t my first choice. I just had them because the meals came with them… and Im glad it did. After declining dessert because we were too full, the waiter brought our check and asked how everything was. In raving over the meal I mentioned how I had wanted something special for our anniversary and I was so glad that we chose there. No sooner did our waiter leave and come back with a sampler plate of cookies & chocolates with “Happy Anniversary” written on the plate. We almost felt bad because we were so full but we manage to pick at most of them so we didn’t look ungrateful. Everything we tried from there was good too.
While this restaurant was a little more pricey than we are used to paying for just 2 of us, between the food and the service, it was well worth it. It was really an incredible meal and Im very glad that we chose to go there.

SCI-FI DINE IN- My mother took the kids here while we went out alone for our anniversary, so I dont have too many details here. I do know DM had a burger which she said was very good, just as good as the burger at B&C. The kids had hot dogs, which they were happy with. They all loved the atmosphere and DM said she has never seen my kids sit so still as when they were watching the movies. DM also said the service was excellent and she would definitely go back there again.

Glad you enjoyed such a fine dinner at YSH.

We've never eaten at Sci-Fi and in fact have always avoided it. Maybe we'll have to give it a try and stick to burgers!:D

It sounds like you had a lovely anniversary dinner. Lucky you to have your DM take your children!

Thanks for reporting. I'm now in the mood for a steak!

Thanks for the reviews! I am really enjoying reading them. We had the very same thing happen to us at Main Street Bake Shop after hitting Fantasyland on an EE morning! We didn' t wait for the French Toast loaf, but after reading your description, I wish we had!

Thanks for your reviews! You have chosen many of the same spots we have selected for our upcoming trip -- and you're making me hungry, BTW!

I am considering kidnapping DH for a dinner for two on our trip (it will be our 14th anniversary on our trip!) We have 3 kids -- was thinking Sand castle club might be a good place for them -- they have begged to go to one of those clubs so many times but we always had one kid that was "too young" -- pretty soon now we'll actually have one that's too OLD, so better seize the moment, eh! (Unless your mom wants to join us on our trip, LOL?)

DH is not an "adventurous" eater, but steaks and potatoes and Caesar salad are definitely up his alley! Your meal sounded lovely! What's the general "ambiance" of yachtsman -- quiet? Open? Quiet? Noisy? Bright? Dark? Never been in it -- fill me in! And thanks again!

I wouldnt say YSH was bright, but it wasnt dark either. There are windows on one side of the retaurant so if you are seated there Im sure it would be brighter than the rest of the restaurant. As I mentioned we were seated in a little cove type corner so we felt very secluded. There was a half wall against our table with a plant on top so Im sure that blocked out some light too. And after dark it may become a darker place, but we were done by 8:00, so it was still light out. The tables have white table cloths and there is some dark woodwork throughout the restaurant.
Even though we did see a good number of kids while walking in and out, I didnt really hear any excess noise, but it also wasnt stuffy.

I cant believe I forgot to mention the bread we were given at Yachtsman. There were 2 different kinds of rolls, one plain and one with onion on it. We were also given butter and roasted garlic cloves. Im a big fan of garlic so this was incredible for me.

I am really enjoying your reviews CamColt, thanks for sharing them with us! :D

Thanks for the colorful and details review(s)!

The burgers at Sci-Fi had *better* be just as good as those at B&C, as they cost several dollars more! Actually I think the ones at Sci-Fi are better, though those at B&C are fine and a better value.

Sounds like a wonderful trip. What a nice DM , to babysit and let you & DH enjoy your anniversary meal alone.

Im Soooo glad you decided on Yachtman!!! :sunny: WE really enjoyed it there also!!
We had the filet and the beef tips and they both were AWESOME!!!!
