50's prime time Cafe: - Lunch...The wait here was a little long but we had PS's. Our waitress "Mom" was great and played the part very well. We started with Fries w/ Gravy & Cheese, which were just O.K. I had the Chicken Pot Pie, which didn't look like a tradional one, but was very very good. DH had the pot roast, which is not my kind of thing, but he really liked it. Bill with 2 iced teas & Tip came to $48.
Mama Melrose - Dinner. This menu was a little different from Deb's web site. Some of the items that were on there, they no longer had (Like the Penne alla Vodka). I had a salad to start and my husband had soup. He then had the chicken parm dinner, which was pretty good, although the sauce wasn't great...i had my usual which is the pizza w/ pepperoni and peppers. It was pretty good. Smaller than what I remember from a few years ago, but still filling enough for me. Price with 2 iced tea's and tip was $45
Teppanyaki - Lunch: As usual, this place is so good and alot of fun. The salad w/ ginger dressing is phenomenal and I had the chicken /shrimp combo and DH had the steak/chicken combo. So much food is given to you. We both really enjoyed it. Price can't be beat either. Bill with 2 iced green tea's and tip was $36.
Spoodles - Dinner. This was a new place for us. Extrememly long wait. Almost an hour. Very nice atmosphere inside. Much bigger than I thought it was going to be. They brought us some hummus and flatbread first to the table. I had a salad to start which was very good, with toasted nuts and gorgonzola cheese. Now, as for the dinner, mine was terrible and DH's was great. He ordered the fettucini w/ cream sauce, with peas and procuitto. Very very good, but very very salty! Now, as for mine. The menu stated it as " Stuffed spanish peppers stuffed with vegetables and chick peas served over grains & fresh vegetables. What I received, I thought was totally different. It was a bowl of "grains" with some chopped up veggies mixed in, 3 very small thin spanish peppers on top of the grains and when you cut open the peppers, there was hummus inside. I thought it was terrible. I ate it because it was $17. Totally not worth it. One thing I have to say was the Sangria was out of this world. One of the best I have ever had. Bill w/ tip and 2 iced teas was $65.
Part 3 coming tomorrow.....
