Just got back here re the table service reviews - on the dining plan, something I never do but my travel partner insisted:
Crystal Palace Dinner - Made ADR here because e were up at 4 p.m. and it was the only place I could get an ADR at MK for dinner. Stay away - stay very far away. For $44 there is not much on the buffet and I remember the cafeteria at school was much better. The carved beef was dry, cold and fatty. Had some peel your own shrimp which were very small, chicken and mashed potatoes (no gravy to be found). Desserts were very lacking. For $44 what a rip off.
50 Prime Time - Not my choice, would much rather have gone to Captain's Grille - one of my favs but the partner wanted to try. No hoopla here - waiter spent most of his time talking to his friends at the next table. Had the chicken pot pie - nothing special. Won't return.
Cape May Clambake - Maybe it was an off night but he clams and muscles were cold. Had some sliced beef, and peel your own shrimp which were a nice size. Salad, veggies and a beverage. This was always a must do but I have to rethink this one.
Chefs de France - This was the best table service meal we had. We were not rushed. Had the French onion soup, filet and profiteroles which were all very good. Excellent service. Will go back again, even if only for lunch - love the Alsatian tart and French onion soup.
The Wave - Meh - nothing to right home about. Had the filet which is a thin cut. Ordered it medium and had to send it back - was extremely well done. Still came out well done but not as dry. Didn't bother to send it back again. Return - no.
The Plaza Restaurant - paid out of pocket. Had the reuben. Good as usual. Miss their potato salad though. The Plaza has been consistent for the past 30 years I have been going to Disney.
Counter Service
Toy Story Pizza Planet - Meatball Sub and Salad. Good. Don't do desserts at counter service and the cupcake was dry. Would return for the sub and salad but I understand they are closing.
France Pastry Shop - Had the Jambon toasted and a napoleon - what's not to like.
Columbia Harbor House - Shrimp platter - excellent buy. 11 large shrimp. Dessert here again was lacking.
Breakfast at Food Court - What can I say it was breakfast - eggs, potatoes and bacon. Edible.
Mexico - Love the empanadas here. Also paid for a side of guac and chips. Guac was very good.
Snacks: Popcorn (not nearly as good as Orville Redenbachers), baked potato, almond pretzel at Norway and another pastry in France.
We also ate Breakfast at Shades of Green - I needed my eggs over easy. $12.95 for the buffet with omelettes, eggs and waffles made to order. Excellent.
I think if you make wise choices some of the counter services are better. Next trip definitely back to Captain's Grill. Would also like to try the Biergarten.
