I wish I would have found these boards PRIOR to our trip to WDW but such is my luck. Anyhoo, I thought I could start out by giving some of my (and my fiance's) thougts about dining at the World.

We arrived on Saturday and went to EPCOT on a whim, we decided we wanted to have Fish and Chips so we went the the Rose and Crown. Although we had an extremely long wait for a table (completely understandable since we didn't have PS) we were seated.

My DF had the Cheese and Fruit plate and I had the Fish and Chips. Being a native New Englander I was surprised that the fish was too "fishy" for me. I am not a dining critic so I am not sure what kind it was but it wasn't really my cup of tea. The Cheese and Fruit Plate was fabulous in a word. Fresh and very nicely presented. We had excellent service at this location. So good in fact we wrote a letter to Disney when we returned. Friendly, efficient and courteous.

Sunday we had lunch (again no PS but this time no wait) at the Liberty Tree Inn. This was some of the best food we had in the World. I had a (gulp) $12 cheeseburger and DF went with the Crab Cakes. Both were outstanding. I didn't think a cheeseburger (with bacon) could be that good. Service here was also outstanding.

For the evening we went to the Yachtsman. I had the filet mignon, DF lobster and 2 friends who were dining with us had the same. My filet was very good and cooked correctly. The lobster was tough and not at all sweet. Also strangely, they didn't warm the butter so it was like putting oil on your lobster. Ick. The dessert tray here was the best. A little bit of everything and a wonderful presentation. Service was adequate at best.

Monday we went Chef Mickey's for breakfast. Food was ok. I mean, you go for the characters right? For lunch we had a turkey leg. These are WAY WAY over rated. Two words, never again.

Dinner was at the Contemporary. Appetizer was a grilled flatbread that was excellent. I had the filet (again) also very good. DF went with Sushi. He said it was excellent and very fresh. Too bad the service didn't match the food. Dessert was very good I was sorry I didn't order the chocolate cake. DF did though and I had more than my share. Service was poor, poor, poor. Starting with the maitre'd who treated us as though we were tacky. CM was rude, and really couldn't have cared less about attending to our table. We won't go back here either.

Tuesday was breakfast at the counter service at POFQ (best danish I have EVER had and v.g. service too!) Lunch was at the Sci-Fi. I have never had cheese/spinach dip that was that good before. I would go here again just for that. DF had an unmemorable turkey sandwich and I had grilled chicken sandwich that was really good. Dinner was the Earl of Sandwich. We loved this place. Efficient and the jerk chicken sandwich I had was out of this world. I would go here again in a heartbeat.

Wednesday was breakfast at the counter at POFQ (again, can't stress enough about the danish YUM). Lunch was in Germany counter service. Adequate. We both had hot dogs. Eh. Dinner was at China. Excellent service--great service really---I had Sweet and Sour pork and DF had some type of seafood in a pot. He liked it. I liked the S/S pork but not DF entree. No dessert.

Thursday ( bfast danish at POFQ). Lunch was at POR--ok but nothing to write home about--I had really bad Mac and Cheese and DF a sandwich. Dinner was at Marrrakesh. Food was cold. Service was poor and I didn't even like the baklava--which normally I can't get enough of. We won't go here again.

Friday (did I mention we liked the danish?) Lunch was at Liberty Tree again. I ordered the same thing (couldn't help it!!!) and so did DF. The difference is we had dessert. The chocolate dessert was excellent. Same wonderful service even though we had a different server. Dinner was supposed to have been at Italy but we were so exhausted we ended up with pizza from POFQ. It was ok--not the best but not the worst either.

Hopefully, this mini-review will encourage you all to try the DANISH!!!

THANKS FOR the INFO. and YOUR time.
Earl of Sandwhich sounds scrumptious! :Pinkbounc

Thanks for your reviews and welcome to the DIS! I would be interested in knowing which restaurant in the Contemporary you ate in. Thanks!

Assuming your dinner at the CR was California Grill? That's really two bad about the service. We've usually had great service there.

Glad you enjoyed the service at R&C so much. We always do too. Whoever hires for that restaurant does a great job!

Enjoyed your reviews. I just may have to try a cheeseburger at LTT!

Welcome to the DIS Boards!

Excellent dining reviews - thanks for posting them. :D
