I graded each restaurant based on quality of the food and service for the price. We had breakfast in our room each morning.

9/18
Lunch-POR Food Court. I had a cheesebyrger and fries. DH had a polish sausage. Both were pretty good for food court fare. Nothing to rave about, but not bad either. I also tries the begnet's (I am sure I am spelling that wrong.) These were good! I got 3 for $1.89. To me, they are just like a funnel cake as far as taste (and I LUV funnel cakes) they are just shaped very differently, kind of like a small pillow. [B+]

Dinner-Yakitori House: Epcot counter service in Japan. DH and I both had Beef Curry with white rice and shared and order of Tuna rolls. Good stuff. Again, not the best Japanese food I have ever had, but very good for counter service. Wasabi was nice and hot. 8-10 pieces came in a single order of sushi rolls.

9/19
Lunch: Beirgarten. This was awesome! One of the best meals of the trip. I have had german food before and didn't like it, so I thought I would not like this place. It was great! I also thought I wouldn't like how they seat you with other people, but that was fun too. All the servers spoke German, which was fun for me cause I spoke it back in High School. Service was attentive, food was good, atmosphere was fun. [A]

Cocktails: California Grill. DH and I went monorail riding and stop and the Cont. to check out the view from the 15th floor around 5:30. We sat in the lounge area chairs that were right next to the window. We had a sweeping view of the World, and it was raining which made it even cooler. I had a pina colada, and it was the best of my life. So thick and smooth, it was more "drink" than "ice." (Unlike the ones you get at TGI Fridays!) It was also pretty strong. DH had a top shelf margarita and was also impressed. [A]

Dinner: Planet Hollywood. We went to DD and realized that we were hungry. We waited forever, the service was mediocre at best, and the food was not great. We started wieth buffalo wings, which were pretty ok. We spilt a fajita and it was the worst fajita I have every had. I have made better here at my house. [C-]

9/20
Lunch-Sci Fi. The food was nothing stellar. At best, on par with counter service food, just with twice the price. We went for the atmosphere and we loved that. It is so hard to accurately describe the restaurant, but needless to say, it is cool. The chocolate milkshake was awesome. I had the fried catfish. The edges were slightly burnt, as were my hush puppies. Not so bad that I couldn't eat it, but annoying. DH had the prime rib sandwich. He said it was fair. Our server was a little on the slow side. If we didn't have the movies to entertain us, we would have been anoyed. [B-]

Dinner- Mama Melrose. We shared two of the wood-fired flatbreads. I wouldn't exactly call them "pizza" but they were still pretty good. We had the Pepperoni and the Portibello mushroom. Service was good.

9/21
Lunch-Pizzafari. I was really impressed with how good the pizza was. DH and I shared a meat and veggie deluxe. They were really good. The indoor seating area is large and clean. [A]

Dinner- 'Ohana!: We loved this! This was our anniversary meal and we had so much fun. It was perfect for us. We asked for a table by the window and we had to wait, but we had a perfect view of the castle. It also seperated us a bit from the antics, we could see them but they weren't intrusive. Our server knew it was our anniversary and didn't go overboard, but was still fun. The food was great. DH was at first not satisified with the steak, it was too dry. I told him to ask for some medium rare. He did and from then on it was awesome. We were cutting it with a butter knife. The food was great. Our server gave us a little cupcake with a candle for our anniversary, PLUS we ordered the chocolate moose. I left there stuffed to the brim! OH, I also had a Lapu Lapu. I got the pineapple full, plus a whole glass full on the side. They should call it the "Loopy Loopy!" [A+]

9/22
Lunch- Cindy's: We had a 2pm seating. This was a cool experience. We got the table for two right in the middle of the window. The view of fantasyland was awesome! I thought that Cindy's faced Main street, but it faces Fantasy land. DH had the Major Domo pie. I got a taste and it was great! It's kind of like a pot pie. I had the caesar salad. I have had better. I should have ordered the pie like DH did. Service was great, I really felt special.

Dinner-In room pizza: We ordered pizza and wings at our POR room. Both arrived promptly and were very good. We were annoyed that they tacked on a 20% gratuity and a $1 delivery charge, making pizza, wings and 2 beers cost almost $45 dollars!!! [C-]

9/23
Lunch-Lottawatta lodge at BB: I had a cheeseburger, DH had a hotdog. Average food court fare. Nothing special.

Dinner- House of Blues. We ate thier to get out 10% off for the Disney Club card. We both really enjoyed the food. I had seafood etoufee and DH had seafood gumbo. We shared a pan of the awesome cornbread. Service was good [A-]

9/24
Lunch-Wolfgang Puck's express at DD. We went here to use our 20% off DC discount. If we had paid full price I would have been annoyed. DH had pizza, I had a pasta dish. Both were pretty tasteless, but still edible with lots of salt and pepper. [C-]

SNACKS:
Funnel Cakes: I had two, one at Epcot and one at BB. What can I say, I love these things! [A]

Beignets: Like I said, they taste just like a funnel cake to me. That's a good thing! [A]

Beaver Tail: Maybe I made a mistake by getting the one with strawberries and cream. This was ok, but not very good. She put so much topping on it that it was a soggy mess. After I finished that tail, I still had a plate full of topping [C]

Mickey Bar: For just being a vanilla ice cream bar covered in chocolate these were awesome! I had 2, one at MGM and one at AK [A]

Vanilla & Pineapple Dole Whip: This is great soft serve ice cream. I enjoyed it, as did DH. I wouldn't go out of my way to get it as it is served only at one place. But I did enjoy it.

I think that's it! Overall, I think the prices for food at WDW are inflated (duh) but we were expecting that. We were pleased with our dining choices.

I love reading reviews like this. Thanks so much for taking the time to write and post about your experiences.

I've been reading/hearing good things about the Biergarten. I think I'm going to add it to our list of places to try in November.

By the way, Dallas Lady, any chance you are going to post about your resort experiences?

Port Orleans Riverside is where we are staying, and I'd love to read your impressions of your stay there.

No fair, I'm sitting here eating a yogurt and you're telling us about all this great food!!!;)
Thanks for the reviews!!

Dallas Lady - thanks so much for the reviews! I am particularly interested in your meal at Ohanas. DH and I have a ps for this restaurant for our anniversary in November and I am very excited about it. I hope you don't mind some additional questions.

How long did you have to wait for your window table? Was the music piped in for the fireworks? What time did you make your ps for? I made ours for 7:40 (this of course before the November hours were released - the fireworks are supposed to be at 8:00). I figure we'll get there more like 7:15 or so to allow for waiting for a possible window table. You mentioned the steak, but how was the rest of the meal? What's a Lapu Lapu? It sounds great and since we won't be driving, I'd like one (or two if they are that good). Did you try the pineapple with the dipping sauce everyone seems to rave about?

I apologize for so many questions but I like as much detail as I can possible get! It helps the days go by quicker (I think). Thanks in advance!!!

Good job--I appreciate the details. Can't wait to try O'Hana for the first time Saturday night. Thanks!!

Thanks for your reviews! I'm glad to hear you liked the Biergarten. It's one of our favorites, and I think most people overlook it.

Ariella

Definitely give Beirgarten a try. DH and I enjoyed it immensely!

I will be posting a review on POR. I took lots of pictures and I am getting then uploaded to my website before the end of the week.

Our ressie was for 6pm at 'Ohana, we got there about 10 minutes early. We weren't there for the fireworks, we left and went to the Magic Kingdom around 7:30 for SpectroMagic and the fireworks. When we check in, we told the lady at the podium that we were celebrating our anniversary and were willing to wait for a window table. We went to the bar and had drinks and waited maybe 10 minutes.

I have pictures that I will be posting that shows where we were seated, and it also shows the Lapu Lapu. It has pineapple juice and a couple types of alcohol and it served in a pineapple. I don't remember exactly what was in it, but it was GOOD.

The meats were really good. Come hungry! (have a light lunch) I enjoyed the pork and the steak the best. The shrimp was good too, I don't too much care for turkey.

Personally, I wouldn't order a dessert, I would just have the pineapple and dipping sauce. it was good, but I only ate one slice cause DH wanted to split a chocolate mouse (which was awesome) and on top of that our waiter brought us a cupcake for our anniversary.

I'll post here and let you know when my pics of 'Ohana are up.

Oh, one more thing about window seats. The windows are in an "L" shape. One side faces the lagoon and you can see the castle in the distance. The other side overlooks the Poly. We were seated kind of in the corner of the L, so we had a little of both views. It seems that the tables on the castle side were all really large.

Thanks so much for the detailed reply! You are making me more and more excited for our upcoming trip. I just can't wait!

We are leaving for WDW next week. The Beirgarten was one of the places I was considering for the day we are in Epcot. After reading your review, I really want to go. I never really had real German food, but I love trying new things & I think the atmosphere will be fun. But ... I will be traveling with 2 - 13 year old girls (one is my daughter & she has a hard time trying anything new - if it doesn't rhyme with "chicken fingers" then it may be considered strange), & an adult with a somewhat sensitive stomach. What's the menu like there? Is there anything "just plain" and maybe a little "americanized" on there for the picky eaters?

....they tacked on a 20% gratuity and a $1 delivery charge....

That would *really* piss me off. What's the gratuity for if they're charging a delivery fee too?? Unless they set up a table and cleaned up for you? They did that for us when we ordered pizza from room service at the BWV. We were a little disconcerted when our pizza arrived complete with linen tablecloth and silverware. We were planning to veg in front of the TV!

Your Lapu Lapu sounds glorious. O'Hanas for dinner is definitely on our list for our next trip. I can't wait to try the Lapu Lapu now! ;)

Thanks for sharing!

Hmmm.. I don't know if I can be of much help here. DH and I are not picky. Some of the sausages are pretty "normal" but everything has a German flair. There wasn't really any americanized food. You might want to re-think it for picky eaters.

Nope. They gave me everything in a big paper bag! Paper plates and plastic cutlery. Not that I am complaining about that, I expected that, but the 20% gratuity really annoyed us.

Great info and reviews! Thanks!
I think for our January trip we will check out Biergarten! :)

Thanks for the great reviews!! I am also really looking forward to the 'Ohana pictures when you get a chance. We will be dining there next Sunday WOOHOO!!

Glad you had a great trip!!

Thanks for the great reviews. We eat at House of Blues on every trip and just love it. There Jambalaya is great and you have to get an order of there cornbread it is the best. We are planing on eating at Planet Hollywood in Dec. so I was wondering what you did not like about the food? Thanks Ron...
