Here is the rest of my reviews from our stay at the YC from 8/20 -8/28. I want to thank everyone on these boards for all your tips and suggestions. DH was pretty impressed with all of my choices (I picked them all and made all the ps) and for one or two minor negatives, we really had some great meals.

Sat. 8/24
Breakfast - DH went to Beaches and Cream and brought back to the room a croissant, bagel, cold cereal for DS and a blueberry muffin for me along with the MUCH needed coffee. Was nice to eat in the room for a change. Can't get enough of those muffins!

Lunch - Food Quest by the Cheesecake Factory in Disney Quest. DS did not want to eat so it was just DH and I. We both had the chicken caesar wraps. I was impressed that they made each wrap fresh in front of you. The man took out two individually wrapped bags of salad greens, dumped them in a bowl, added dressing and chunks of grilled chicken, tossed it and rolled them in wraps. He added a side portion of colored tortilla chips, and there was a fixings bar with salsa in it. The wraps were so good, the dressing had a real kick to it, just how I like caesar dressing.

Dinner- Rose & Crown Pub in England. DS had the Yorkshire Fisherman's Basket which had the fried cod, some shrimp and a salmon cake all batter dipped and tasty. It came with a side of fries (chips) and some coleslaw. He wasn't too sure of the salmon cake at first, being a lover of crab cakes, but he pronounced it very good. DH had the prime rib which came served with a baked potato, yorkshire pudding and some veggies. He liked his also. I had the English pie sampler. I liked the cottage pie, the chicken and leek pie was good also, but I wasn't too crazy about the pork pie. It was a big lump of sausage in a pastry with gravy on it. Just not my thing. I really wanted to try dessert, but we were all too stuffed.

Dessert - Took a stroll on the Boardwalk and stopped in their bakery. They have a really great mouth watering selection of baked goods. Finally, after drooling for about two minutes, I picked a banana creme tart and DH picked a cream doughnut. While paying, in a moment of weakness, I threw in one of those chocolate dipped, Mickey head shaped crispy rice treats. (oink, oink)

Sun. 8/25
Breakfast - none today, just coffee from Beaches and Cream.

Lunch - Biergarten in Germany for DH and I, Yakitori House in Japan for DS. DS had the Yakitori, which is skewers of teriyaki chicken and some rice. While he enjoyed it, it was not enough for a growing 15 year old, so he supplemented with a big box of Cracker Jack. DH and I had the German buffet which was very good. There was quite a selection. All sorts of salads, roast pork with gravy, fricadellen (spelling?), which was like a German meatball, knockwurst, wiener schnitzel (breaded, fried veal cutlet), saurekraut, potatoes and I am sure I am forgetting some things. The pretzel bread was very good. Dessert, which was included had really yummy apple strudel, pudding, black forest cake and a few other things. I really didn't expect to enjoy it as much as I did. The only thing I didn't care for was the communal seating, but all in all I would definitely go back.

Snack - DS had a honeydew melon kaki gori and I had tangerine. These were shaved ice with syrup over it. They were ok. I think I am more of an Italian ice kind of gal.

Dinner - Artist Point in the WL. Tonight we met DH's aunt and uncle who live not too far away. A most delicious meal! OK, now with so many people I did not keep track of little details, such as side dishes, so descriptions will be brief. DS had the beef tenderloin which was juicy and delicious, DH had the buffalo, which we all had to taste. It was really good, a little bit chewier and sweeter than beef. After the meal we all kept making little horns above our heads with our fingers and saying "tatonka, tatonka" (spelling?) Whoever has seen the movie "Dances with Wolves" with Kevin Costner will know what I am talking about.

Anyway, back to the meal. DH's aunt had the mixed grill which consisted of a baby lamb chop, a piece of venison and rabbit sausage. She really enjoyed it. DH's uncle also had the tenderloin which he proclaimed very good. I had the cedar plank salmon. It was very good , but I didn't taste the whiskey maple glaze that was supposed to be on it. My side dishes were some delicious roasted asparagus and a fennel slaw which was light and refreshing.

For dessert I ordered the house special dessert, the berry cobbler to share with everyone. It was a mound of fresh strawberries, rasberries, blueberries and blackberries, over a cake base that had berries baked in it, topped by vanilla ice cream. umm, umm. DH ordered the cappuccino creme brulee, and that was let's lick the bowl clean delicious. DH's uncle ordered the chocolate bread pudding and I had a small taste and immediately wished I had picked that over the berry cobbler. This was the best dinner overall of our trip.

Mon. 8/26
Breakfast - skipped again, just coffee from Beaches and Cream.

Lunch - Lottawatta Lodge in Blizzard Beach - We all had some very forgettable cheeseburgers and fries. Satisfied our hunger but that's all.

Dinner - Cinderella's Royal Table in MK. Had ps at 6:50 and park closed at 7:00. Loved the way you are announced to your table. Loved the whole beautiful restaurant with the gorgeous windows overlooking Fantasyland. DS had the beef tenderloin and he found it to be just fine. It was served with what they call root smash, which was chunky mashed potatoes with other root vegetables thrown in. Very good. DH had the prime rib which was also served with the root smash. He also enjoyed it. I had the NY strip steak which was served with a potato quiche. Wow, was that good. The steak was topped with a drizzle of bearnaise sauce and some asparagus tips and onions. The potato quiche had a blue cheese crust on top and was my favorite side dish of the trip. The steak was cooked just right and very tasty. For dessert I had the banana creme brulee, which was just ok, and DH had some kind of berry tart which he enjoyed. I was not expecting such an enjoyable meal.

Tues. 8/27
Breakfast - Main St. Bakery in MK. DH and I had some really huge sticky cinnamon rolls and coffee and DS had a ham and cheese baguette.

Lunch - Pecos Bill Cafe in MK. DH, DS and I all had the cheeseburgers and fries. The cheeseburgers were very good and we loved their fixings bar. The best one I have seen so far. The fried onions and mushrooms sizzling away, ummm, so good! For counter service I rate this one of the best.

Snack -Everyone needed a chocolate fix. I had a small Mickey head shaped chocolate truffle and a chocolate turtle from the Main St. confectionary. Yummy, good thing I only bought two, I could have eaten more. DH had a hershey bar (boring!) and DS had a wonderball

Dinner - Restaurant Akerhus in Norway. The buffet had a wide selection, though not as big as Germany. The mushroom soup was very good. There were some cold meats, cheeses (loved the brown goat cheese), smoked salmon, smoked mackerel, cold shrimp, assorted salads, parmesan crusted salmon (DS really enjoyed), roast beef in gravy (which was way overcooked to my taste), Norwegian meatballs ( taste just like Swedish meatballs), some kind of pasta in cheese sauce (which we skipped), venison stew(which I found ok and DH didn't like at all), new potatoes, cabbage, mixed squash, and other things which I am forgetting. I really liked their flatbread, also. For dessert, which was not included, DS had a gnome cookie, which you paint with assorted colored frostings that are on the plate, and DH and I had the rice cream which is rice pudding with a layer of strawberry sauce on top. DH and I found there to be too much strawberry sauce, we would have preferred the rice pudding plain. All in all, not a bad meal but we probably won't be going back. I would pick the German buffet over this.

Wed. 8/28
Breakfast - Our last meal here, sniff, sniff! Ate in Yacht Club Galley one last time. DH and I had the buffet. Good as usual. I had to get my last muffin fix in before we left and DS had this -

his last Mickey waffle!

Well folks, that is the end of my dining reviews. We enjoyed ourselves immensely, and once again thanks to you all for your expertise in helping me choose the places that we ate in. Now I just need to worry about taking off those extra pounds that I gained!

I have really enjoyed all of your reviews, idors8! Thanks for taking the time to share them. We'll be staying in the same area next year, so I imagine we'll frequent many of the same places.

I had to laugh, though, at one of your son's meals . . . teriyaki chicken and Cracker Jack. Now, there's a combination!! (Just kidding! I know he didn't eat them together. It just sounded funny.)

Inky

I love your reviews! I think I'm doing to try something different on our 11/2002 trip. Seems like we always go to the same places. I think the German buffet sounds delicious. Thanks, again.
