Just returned from a great trip. Ate several meals off-site, several counter service meals, and breakfast in the villa. Our table service:
Le Cellier: Saturday night. Had a 6:00 PS, waited for about 15 minutes before being seated. Our waitress was good, but had a table next to us that appeared very demanding. I had the chef's excursion: Salmon cakes for an appetizer--they were crispy on the outside, and wonderful tasting on the inside. My entree was a 14 oz NY strip--done to perfection. Dessert was a sampler: Maple creme brulee, raspberry sorbet, chocolate cake--I shared with the table. The excursion was $34.99--and I thought it was an excellent value. DH got the NY strip; DD got the prime rib. Wonderful meal, excellent service. Bill was around $125 for the meals, and tip, with a glass of wine and beer. Still a must do on our trips.
Crystal Palace: lunch on Sunday at 1:00. Approximately 20 minutes wait. Good food. Michael was an excellent waiter who kept singing to my DD. Good interaction with characters. DD was a little embarassed to act with the characters.
Shulas: Dh and I did this on our date night while DD went to Camp Dolphin. I am glad we did it, but I will be in no hurry to go back. The football menu is a little cheesy, and I wish they had had prices on there. I had the 32 oz prime rib which included a bone, and quite a bit of fat. It was tasty. DH had filet medalions. We split a twice-baked potato and an order of asparagus--which could have been steamed a little more. With a glass of wine and beer, our meal was about $125. I had really expected a larger bill.
Trails End: We decided to try this out after hearing good reviews. I loved the buffet--excellent fried chicken, corn, corn bread, biscuits--DH and DD also enjoyed it, but not as much as I did.
Mama Melrose: Walked in at 1:15 to no wait. I had the penne ala vodka--very good; DH had a flat bread with pepperoni. DD had the kids calzone--which was tiny--like 4 bites worth. Good service, quiet location.
California Grill: Excellent restaurant with an outstanding view. OUr PS was at 7:30--we were seated immediately at a window table overlooking MK. I had the salmon, which was great. DD had a NY Strip with marbled potatoes (I think it was potatoes and mushrooms together); Can't remember what DH had, but he liked it. We shared a spinach salad with bacon dressing and pecans--the best salad I have ever eaten!! We were too full for dessert so our bill was something like $130 with tip.
I'd be happy to answer any questions.
