lunch at Pecos Bill. DH and I shared a chicken salad. It was very good, It had somewhat sweet vinegrette. With fries and a small bowl of chili it was plenty of food. The other couple had the pulled pork sandwich. It was good they said. and came with fries and baked beans.
Dinner at Cape Mays Cafe. This was not our first choice but one of the few things that was available. The shrimp, clams and mussels were very good. They careved beef was very good, and the mashed potatos were good as well. The salad bar was very good. There was something for everyone. We were all stuffed.
Day 3 -We had lunch at ARtist Palette. WE really liked the food here, after all the complaints about the menus on DIS. I had the grilled chicken and artichoke flatebread. It was excellent. DH had BBQ pork on pannini which he really liked and it was huge. Our firiend had the cheeseburger flatbread and the chili. The girls shared the pepperoni pizza flatbread The portions are very big.
Dinner at Portabella Yacht Club This was delicious, the service was outstanding. The guys got the special rib eye with appetizer and dessert for $56. The girls got the lobster special and DD got the filet mignon. Yes we were splurging and also had an excellent Italian wine which the name escapes me at this time. The calimari melted in your mouth. The Caprese appetizer was unbelieveable. Layers of tomato, mozarella, basil, and fried leeks with a balsomic vinegrette yum. The creme brulee was amazing. WOW
Day 4. We got chicken from Goodings and ate at home. Not a surprise there!
Day 5 lunch at Kringla The 2 ladies got the lunch special. Leek and Jarlsberg soup, open faced smoked salmon sandwich and rice cream. very good and less than $10. We also had a Kakigori the snow cones-yummy
Dinner at House of Blues- Jambalaya was huge portion- delicious. Our friend ate the whole thing to our amazement. I had the voodoo shrimp. DIS members have talked about it so I tried it and it was delicious- a slightly sweet spicy and tasted of alcohol I'm not sure what kind, they called it a Dixie beer reduction. Part of the cornbread was soaked in the sauce and part was dry. I did not leave a crumb in the bowl. The gumbo was good. DH got the steak salad which he pronounce "pretty good" He loved my voodoo shrimp. Anyways it was a delicious trip and now back to my diet. Nancy
