Our family of 3 was in Orlando from March 8 - 18. We spent our first 5 nights at the BCV and our last 5 nights at BWV. Our family consists of DH, DD (11 and extremely picky), and myself. I put the approximate cost on the places I have record of. Most of the trip we ate breakfast in the room.
Wednesday, March 8th
Our flight left at 6:30 pm, so we ate airport food for dinner and arrived in Orlando at 1:00am.
Thursday, March 9th
We slept in this morning so we didnt eat any breakfast.
Lunch Beaches & Cream (Beach Club) We love eating here, but missed it on our last trip. DH ordered the roast beef sandwich, DD and I were supposed to split a cheeseburger, but she also ordered a chocolate sundae and just ate a few fries. (oh well, its vacation.) Approximate cost $33
Dinner My DH had a sausage sandwich from Sommerfest, which he enjoyed, DD grabbed a hamburger from the Liberty Inn that she declared the best hamburger she had ever eaten, and I had a fish & chips basket from the Yorkshire County Fish Shop, which was also good, but a little heavy. (DH $10, DD $6, Me $8)
**Side note, DD just tried her first hamburger last year. She doesnt like things that are mixed and doesnt eat sandwiches either.
Snack - Boulangerie Patisserie (Epcot) We picked up a few snacks while waiting for Illuminations. I had a napoleon, DH has something similar to a crème puff, and DD had some elephant ears.
Friday, March 10th
Breakfast - We had an 8:05 PS for Crystal Palace (MK). We were the first family to be seated and Pooh came right around. The food was very good and fresh. Unfortunately, DD is now considered an adult, so I paid $20 for her 6 pieces of bacon and muffin. We cut back on our buffets/all you can eat meals this trip, but this is one that I really enjoy. Character interaction was great and we were finished by 8:45. Approximate cost $68
Lunch Our new favorite place for lunch is Cosmic Rays (MK). We managed to get in before the big lunch crowd hit. DH and I each got the chicken Caesar salad which is wonderful and DD loves the vegetable soup. We found a great seat outside overlooking the castle and old swam boat dock. I was disappointed that the Italian sub sandwich was gone from the menu. It was delicious and enough to share. Approximate cost $20
Dinner Earl of Sandwich (DTD) DH ordered our food while DD and I explored the pin shop. I cant remember the specific sandwiches, but Im sure I got something with turkey and I think DH got something with ham or roast. DH also ordered some potato salad that he wasnt too crazy about, but we thought the sandwiches were good. DD ate a salted pretzel. (Note to self, dont stress, its vacation, she wont starve.)
Saturday, March 11th
Breakfast in room
Snack Fountainview Cafe (Epcot) We were needing a snack, so DD got a chocolate croissant and DH and I shared a cream cheese pastry. Approximate cost $9
Lunch Le Cellier (Epcot) Of course we started off with cheese soup to dip our bread. DD wouldnt dip, but loved the pretzel bread. DH ordered the New York Strip and I got the grilled petit filet. DD was allowed to order off the kids menu and got grilled steak with fries and the cappuccino freeze that she raved about. DH and I got ice tea and thankfully someone alerted me that there was no pink sweetener, so I had some ready in my bag. We loved Le Cellier on our last trip, but werent as wowed this time around. It was good, but well probably take a break from it on our next trip. Approximate cost $78
Dinner Seasons (Epcot The Land) This was another one of those vacation only type meals. I got a rice krispie treat and Lauren had some other type of junk food. We both enjoyed our meal.
Approximate cost $9. DH chose not to go back to Epcot and grabbed a sandwich from the Boardwalk Bakery.
Sunday, March 12th
Breakfast in room
Lunch Sci-Fi Dine In (MGM) We hadnt eaten here in quite a few trips, but thought it would be fun to try it out again. DH and I started with spinach artichoke dip that was very good. DD and I shared a bacon, swiss burger, which was a huge step for her and she loved it! She also had a chocolate milkshake. DH had a chicken Caesar salad. We had lots of fun and thought the food was good. This is one of those places that we will probably go to every other trip. Approximate cost $48
Dinner Marketplace (Beach Club) We were going back to MGM, but knew there wasnt a whole lot of fast food we would be interested in, so we grabbed sandwiches to eat out by the pool. I had a turkey and DH had ham. They were both very good. In another case of bad parenting, DD had another chocolate sundae from Beaches & Cream and I got a vanilla milkshake. Approximate cost Marketplace $16, B & C $12
Monday, March 13th
Breakfast in room
Lunch Leaning Palms (TL) DH got a footlong and DD the kids hotdog. I got a cheeseburger. None of it was fancy and all was adequate. We also grabbed a ½ dozen of the mini donuts with our locker refund and loved those!! Approximate cost (Lunch & donuts) $19
Dinner Chevys (Crossroads) We rented a car for 2 days so DH was anxious for some Mexican food. He really wanted to find the Don Pablos he ate at on our last trip, but couldnt remember where it was. We had also eaten at Chevys on our last trip, so we settled for it. The one thing we remembered from last time was that they ran out of chips. Being from TX, and eaters of lots of Mexican food, this cracked us up. This time, there were plenty of chips and we all enjoyed beef fajitas and some queso. Okay, DD wont really eat fajitas, but she does like the meat. Approximate cost $50
Evening snack We stopped by the Boardwalk Bakery for some cheesecake and Tiramisu. Both were awesome!! Approximate cost $10
Tuesday, March 14th
Breakfast in the room
Lunch Lottawatta Lodge (BB) After enjoying a funnel cake earlier, DH and DD both had hot dogs (I think) and in another vacation only type meal, I had a soft pretzel.
Dinner Kona Café (Poly) We had gone over to the GF to ride the speedboats and decided to eat somewhere on the monorail. We had eaten at Kona a few trips ago and decided on it. Since we did not have an ADR, we had to wait about 30 minutes, but that gave us time to explore the grounds. Once seated, our server brought out some bread with dipping oil. It was very good and we asked for more. DD and DH shared Beef Teriyaki steak and I had the Char Crusted Medallions of Filet Mignon. This was our favorite meal of the trip. The steaks were wonderful as well as the broccoli DH had and my asparagus. This was our favorite of the trip. Approximate cost $50
Evening snack We ran in Seashore Sweets and got a rice krispie treat, peanut butter fudge and a chocolate sundae for DD. (are you keeping count on the sundaes??)
Wednesday, March 15th
Breakfast in the room
Lunch I was wanting to eat at Flame Tree again because we loved it on our last trip, but we switched our BB and AK days because of a cold snap and we were going to be eating dinner at Whispering Canyons Café, so we decided to try Pizzafari. DD had cheese quesadillas and ate every bite. DD had the pepperoni pizza and I got the Italian sandwich. While DH didnt rave about the pizza, I thought the sandwich was really good.
Dinner Whispering Canyons Cafe (Wilderness Lodge) We arrived about 30 minutes early for our PS, but werent seated until after our time. DH and I got the all you can eat skillet. DD looked at the kids menu and just wanted some corn on the cob. The waiter was great and said if she changed her mind and wanted to eat off the skillet, he would add her on then, otherwise, she could get a corn cob. DD also ordered the bottomless milkshake, but could only handle one. Our first round of ribs was tough, but DH said the second helping was better. I loved the salad and got seconds of it.
Thursday, March 16th
Breakfast - Princess Storybook Breakfast (Epcot) This was a special meal that DD and I prefer. DH is not much of a breakfast eater and despite the fact that he would probably see Jasmine, he passed. The cinnamon rolls were better than our last trip and still warm. The bacon was good and crispy like we like it and the fruit was okay, but the scrambled eggs were bad. DD asked for a fried egg and they were able to get her one. I try to tell myself that more than the food, we are there to see the Princesses. We saw Belle, Jasmine, Aurora, Ariel, and Mary Poppins. As long as DD is wants to, well go here, but I really think its way over priced for the quality of food.
Lunch We didnt eat lunch since we had a late breakfast, but DH picked up a bratwurst from Sommerfest again. He loves those! We also picked up some pastries in France for a little snack.
Dinner - Boardwalk DH and I got pizza slices from the Spoodles window and DD got a corn dog from the stand. We enjoyed eating at a little table by the water. Pizza was okay and DH tried the corndog that was just the frozen variety, well probably try something else before eating on the boardwalk again.
Evening snack We ate a funnel cake from the Sleepy Hollow while waiting for Wishes.
Friday, March 17th
Breakfast in the room.
Lunch Leaning Palms (TL) back for more waterpark food. DH got the chicken Caesar salad, DD the hotdog and I ate some of the chips and dips we brought. Of course, on our way out we again got some of those delicious mini donuts.
Dinner Seasons (Epcot) & ESPN Club (Boardwalk) I took our last evening to go back to MK and Epcot to catch a couple of rides I missed and see a final show of IllumiNations. I couldnt resist while in the MK and had to get one of the huge rice krispie Mickey heads. It was so good and I had eaten an entire ear when I got back to the room. I ran by Seasons and got the Turkey and Muenster Cheese on Foccacia and it was really good. DH and DD went to the ESPN Club. Im not sure what they ate, but know that the service was awful.
Saturday, March 18th
Breakfast Cinnabon!! Our flight left Orlando at 6:00am and I was afraid it wouldnt be open before we left. We dont have a location in our town and I love them! Thankfully, it was open and I got one fresh out of the oven.
We had excellent service at all restaurants except ESPN and the service at Kona was especially good. The fast food on the Boardwalk is the only thing we wouldnt do again, all the rest was good to great. For the most part we tried to share and always ordered just 1 large drink for the 3 of us at counter service restaurants. We did a lot more snacking and now consider ourselves food experts on rice krispie treats, funnel cakes, and mini donuts. Thanks for sticking with my post, let me know if you have any questions.
