I believe it was the suggested wine for the Wave listed on the menu. I love it!!

Thanks for the reviews so far, I can't wait to read more! I agree with you about the CR not having a good seafood selection. We didn't enjoy the food there at all! By the way, that coral mary looks terrific! I wish I would have ordered that when we were there. Did your DH say if it was good?

The Coral Mary was very good. Being from New Orleans we're used to them being quite spicy and this one had a pretty good kick to it!

I had the same thing happen to me during our trip, toughest steak I've ever tried to eat.

Loved the Coral Reef review! Especially the pix of two of my favorite types of drinks.

We've been to Coral Reef once, and have not yet found a reason to make the return trip. It was okay, but nothing special, which is disappointing considering the nice setting.

JIKO - This was by far the most highly anticipated restaurant of the trip. DH & I are both very adventurous eaters and we love spices of any kind so we knew our taste buds were in for a good time. We took the advice of a fellow DISer and took a cab to AKL from BWI so that we would be sure and have time to tour the lodge. We arrived with plenty of time to tour and indulge in the lounge. The lodge is beautiful and the Christmas decorations were incredible. First stop - the Lounge and my first encounter with a "Skyy Berry Martini" - this turned out to be the first of many more.......

Onto the restaurant - it was a Tuesday night and not very crowded at all, in fact they were seating walk-ups! I asked if we could be seated at "The Cooking Place" and lucky for us we were. It is an amazing experience interacting with the chefs the entire night and watching them at work. They even give you little samples of some of the things they are preparing.
