Just back from a five day excursion. Three of us dining, Marie, my wife. Sarah, my daughter, and me, Al. Here's the run-down.

Breakfast:

Fresh in the Dolphin:

Buffet set-up. Marie had an omelet, a small danish and juice. Sarah ordered two eggs but once she saw them dump in a ladle full of oil to fry them in, she lost her appetite and hardly ate a thing. I had two eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and juice. I thought it was OK but definitely not worth.....$64 w/ tip.

Spoodles:

Marie had pancakes & juice. Sarah and I had eggs & sausage & juice. Good breakfast, Marie thought the pancakes were a little dry.....$37 w/ tip

Garden Grove in the Swan:

Marie had an omelet & juice, Sarah had eggs benedict & juice, I had two eggs & sausage & juice. Food was good but not worth ......$60 w/ tip

Lunches:

Brown Derby:

Marie had the Cobb Salad, Sarah the Thai Noodle Bowl and I had Grouper. Water for the girls and one beer for me. We shared a Happiest Celebration chocolate cake for dessert. Good but not great.....$71 w/ tip

Garden Grove:

Marie & I had Fish & Chips. Sarah had a Reuben. Two waters and one beer. ( See a pattern here ). Not bad......$45 w/ tip

Beaches & Cream:

Marie & Sarah shared a burger and 1/2 fries - 1/2 onion rings. I had a burger and fries. Two Iced Tea and a nice, cold 16oz Heineken. Love this place......$40 w/ tip

Food & Wine Festival:

We sampled a wide variety of food & beer & wine and it was all good. It's the reason we were here to being with. Loved it......Maybe $100 over a couple days.

Dinners:

BlueZoo in the Dolphin:

The first of a few amazing dinners. First we shared a flatbread with clams, garlic & basil. It was delicious. I also had clam chowder. I won't try to go into detail on the main courses, they're available on-line. Marie & Sarah both had Swordfish and I had the Tuna. I know we had dessert but can't remember. Wonderful meal, with drinks, wine, coffee.....$170 w/ tip

California Grill:

First we shared a variety of appetizers. Flatbread with tomatos & mozzerella, Goat Cheese Ravioli, Sweet Corn Bisque & California Rolls or as they say "Peeky Toe" Crab California Rolls. Main courses were Veal Tournedos, Pork Tenderloin and Salmon. Dessert was Blueberry Bliss, Blueberry cake, ice cream & sauce. I can't say enough about this place, consistently superb. With drinks, wine & coffee..........$223 w/ tip

Palios in the Swan:

I had a Prosiutto & Aspargus appetizer. Marie had Tortelloni with lobster, garlic & basil. Sarah had Linguine with clams. I had Mahi - Mahi with tomatos, artichokes & toasted Pastina. Dessert was Tiramisu which they put together right at the table. We loved this place last time we were here but weren't that impressed this time. With drinks, wine & coffee......$175 w/ tip

Bistro de Paris:

Appetizers consisted of Consommee of Chicken & Beef, Rare Tuna & Remoulade of Crab. For the main course Marie & Sarah both had Lobster and I had Artic Char. Dessert was something called Chocolate Variations and Crepe Suzette which was prepared at the table. To DIE for. With drinks, wine and coffee......$223 w/ tip

I'll try to answer any question you may have. Bye

Thanks for taking the time to post. I enjoyed reading your reviews. :earsgirl:

Thanks so much for taking your time to post your reviews. I got some great ideas :cool1:

Loved reading your reviews. We're going to California Grill for the first time this year. Did you have any favorites there? I especially enjoyed your comments on the restaurants at the Swan/Dolphin. We always stay at a DVC resort but have never tried any of the S or D restaurants.

Was your whole meal outstanding at Paris or just the desert? We did Rose and Crown the last three years at Epcot and we will not go back. Food and service were horrible each time.

Yachtsman Steakhous is a favorite that we do every year for at least one dinner along with Brown Derby and Flying Fish. We've been a little disappointed in FF the last two times and are looking to try some new places.

If we stay at VWL we have one dinner at Artist Point. Beaches and Cream is a must do when we stay at BCV.

Thanks again for the reviews!

We don't really have any favorites at Califormia Grill. We've tried a variety of appetizers and main courses and have never been disappointed. If you like sushi, the California Rolls are the best I've ever had. If you like blueberries, the blueberry dessert was outstanding.

The entire meal at Bistro de Paris was great.

We've also found Flying Fish to be kind of hit & miss. Haven't gone back there for a few years. The Rose and Crown is good for one thing....the BEER.

If you go over to the Swan & Dolphin, I'd give BlueZoo a try. We really enjoyed it.

Hope this helps. Enjoy your next visit.
