2/13/3 Dinner:
Arrived on time for our PS.
Seated within 5 minutes, most of which the front desk spent trying to figure out where to seat us, to keep the sections equal.
Waiter appeared after about 5 more minutes, as we looked over the 'football' menu. Ordered drinks. Our waiter came back, went over the side item choices, and we decided to start with the Oysters Rockefeller. (6 large oysters, very good dish).
After perusing the cuts of meat on the 'cart', we decided on the 24 oz. Porterhouse for DW, and I ordered the the 32 oz. Prime Rib. We split the baked potato as a side item.
This was, by far, the best steak I have ever tasted. The porterhouse was great, but the prime rib was unbelievable. 2" thick, bone-in, with a great herb crust/rub. Both steaks were cooked perfectly to what we had asked (medium rare),
Baked potato was prepared by waiter #2 (they work in teams), at the table. Huge, too big for just one of us.
During dinner, we ordered the Chocolate Souffle for 2, which needed about 25 minutes of prep time. It also was served table-side, and comes with 2 scoops of vanilla Haagan Daas (sp.). Definitely worth the wait.
We ended up with leftovers, as we purposely saved room for the dessert. But, even if we hadn't, I don't think we could have finished all of the meal.
With drinks (a few Tanqueray & tonics thrown in for good measure), the total bill was just under $120, pre-tip.
The atmosphere is dark (the restaurant is dark), dress was business casual (up to coat & tie), and the meal took just under 2 hours. The wait staff 'teams' meant we were constantly checked on, w/o being overbearing.
While this is not a cheap meal, it was indeed the best steak ever.
We felt the high price was not unreasonable for the quality of the food and the service. Most expensive meal we had.
A definite on the return list for next trip (if we can afford it). A+

). I just want to choose the best for my voyage into steak eating again. Your review made my mouth water! I may wait until October, when we go to WDW, and try Shula's - though I would start with a smaller cut to be sure I liked it - maybe the 12oz. filet?
