Went on 11/17 and had the absolute worst visit of my life. Server clearly didn’t want to be there, never checked on us, never refilled drinks. My monte cristo was lukewarm with a thick inedible crust that made up 50% of the portion. “Garnish” was some weird shredded pile of I don’t know and a mandolin slice of pickled mystery. I get it, fruit might be hard to come by, but just go without the garnish then.
But the unforgivable part: NO BERRY PUREE. This wasn’t disclosed when ordering, and they gave me unappealing orange marmalade instead. It was not an ok swap.
Really hoping this was just a bad night and that the berry puree isn’t gone forever? Cafe Orleans is my #1 must eat at every trip, I’ve been one other time during covid and this experience was night/day in a bad way.
If anyone has the inside track on Cafe Orleans or has been since11/18 and got the berry puree with their monte cristo, please let me know!
