Our first taste was at the McDonalds stand in Fronteirland/Adventureland in the MK. It only serves fries, but heck they're some good fries!

Next we grabbed a quick snack at the Aloha Isle. I had the vanilla and pineapple swirl Dolewhip while the BF had the float (pineapple juice with pineapple and vanilla swirl on top). Both were delicious!

Le Cellier - We dined that evening at Le Cellier (Canada). For all the hype I feel it fell extremely short of expectations. The breads were average. I had the beer and cheese soup which was good but kind of lumpy. I tried some of BF's shrimp which were suprisingly small! He had a steak of sorts (I'm not sure which one b/c I dont eat red meat) I had the salmon with mashed potatoes. The salmon was average and the potatoes were great. There was only a tiny amount of the maple sauce on the plate. Not enough to have some with every bite of the salmon if you intended to eat the whole thing. They also leave the skin on the salmon here, which I was not anticipating. For me dessert was the biggest let down. BF had the creme brule, which was to die for, but my dessert was well uummm.... bad. I ordered the strawberries with balsamic ice cream. It comes with vanilla sauce and cookies. The ice cream was plain vanilla and it had ice chunks in it! The strawberries were clearly from a jar or a can or something. To me you could get a better dessert at your local Fridays!

The following day we stopped at got a cinnamon bun and iced tea at the tea stand in Asia of the AK. (Sorry not sure of the exact name). The iced green tea was great! It was infused with mint which meant that it needed no additional sweetening! The bun was pretty much your average bun.

For lunch we ate the ABC Comissary in MGM. We were on the dining plan so we each got a cheeseburger with fries (which were good). The only thing I would change about the burger was that they had definately buttered the bun. Lol there is no reason to add extra grease to a burger and fries! The BF had the Haagen Daaz bar for dessert and I had the parfait. It was good. I believe it was strawberry gel sauce with some strawberries in it (probably the same I had eaten last night at Le Cellier) with vanilla pudding on top and some type of crumb topping. It was really good!

Dinner was at Kona Cafe. BF and I split the wings and the Kona Chowder. Our waitress actually brought out the chowder pre-split for us in two bowls which was nice. I wasn't a huge fan of the wings, but the BF LOOOOOOVED them. What can I say I'm a traditionalist when it comes to wings! I had the coconut almond chicken which was great. it came with an amazing salad: greens, strawberries, lime/cilantro dressing. For dessert we split a banana creme brulee....YUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!

We also ate at Boma for dinenr another night. We always love Boma. The desserts have changed slightly since the last time we were there. I had the chai rice pudding, the banana bread pudding with vanilla sauce, the passion fruit merangue (sp???) tart, the cheesecake with raspberries, the peach cobbler, and the blueberry tart. Be had I mean had a bite lol. I loved everything except the passion fruit tart and the peach cobbler. I tried all the salads and 2 soups. I enjoyed most of the salads and carrot ginger soup was soooo amazing!! I had the salmon which was so-so and that was about it.

Olivias Cafe - We had our final meal at Olivias for lunch. I had the conch fritters with cajun tartar sauce. I was instead of drizzling the sauce on top they actually brought it out on the side, but they were pretty good. BF had the wings which he tells me tasted just like Kona Cafe, so I stayed away, but he loved them. He raved about his pulled pork sandwich and I had the club (turkey and bacon). It was your average sandwich.

Thanks for the review! I felt the same way about Le Cellier, good to know I'm not the only one.

Thanks for posting!

Lucky you, I REALLY wanted that carrot ginger soup when we dined at Boma but it wasn't on the rotation that night.

Enjoyed reading your reviews ~ Thanx for sharing.

Honestly, I'm not trying to nitpick here because I really enjoyed your reviews, but going OT a bit you stated in your LC review that you don't eat red meat...but you had the cheeseburger and wings in other reviews? I'm so confused!

wings are not red meat, they are chicken. And I'll have the occasional burger if there is no chicken, turkey, or ostrich burger. But I never eat steaks.

oops...forgot wings were chicken. LOL...haven't eaten them in over a decade so I guess I didn't think too far into that.

Like a previous poster stated, I don't want to nitpick, but... to be honest, as far as red meat goes: Is it the healthiest choice for you (as opposed to, say, fish or poultry)? Good heavens, no. But, within the realm of red meat, it's nearly always safer to go with a steak or prime rib than with a burger. Why? Being ground, a burger can be more easily tainted with something like E. coli than could a non-ground piece of red meat.

But, aside from that, I won't quibble. (And I do, in general, agree with your assessment of Le Cellier. Good, but a tad overrated.) And I am glad that you seemed to really enjoy your meals on your trip. :sunny:
