Hi all!! I rarely post but I know how much I enjoy reading dining reveiws so I thought I would share our recent expriences. Our travel party consisted of me, my DS 14 my sister and her DS 5. We stayed at Beach Club for the location to Epcot, we planned on doing a lot of eating there.

10/30-Arrived about 1030 and knew we had an early ADR at LTT before MNSSHP. We decided to go to DTD and grab a bite at Earl of Sandwich. We orderd a tuna melt(5 year olds choice) and the roast beef without hoarsradish sauce, and the cream of tomato soup. Everything was tasty although the roast beef was a little gristly. The soup was really good, the tuna had too many onions and celery for the 5yo but he liked the bread.

Our ADR for LTT was at 430. We arrived on time and were seated momentarily. Our server was friendly and efficient. The food was as always. We all enoyed he bread and salad. The mac and cheese was pronounced "too cheesy" by the 5 yo. No one else ate any. The turkey, beef and pork were better than usual. The flank steak was a little too rare for my DS and a plate of medium well came moments after the request. Dessert was great although we were so full it was difficult to enjoy!! The character interaction was wonderful. Chip and Dale were very playful. Minnie sweet and gracious, Goofy was, well, goofy. It was a very nice dinner. Got us into the MNSSHP mood. ( As a side note-at PFTS on sat night we met both the executive chef and the general manager for LTT. They actually had one fo the best most popular dishes, a short rib with Yukon gold gratin, absolutley fantastic! Anyway, we were chating about what a nice dinner we had on thursday night and I mentioned how much we would miss the characters next year. The GM told us the fight was not over and they were doing their best not to let it happen. They had hopes that the chaacter dining would remain. Lets hope so as it is one of our favorte character meals).

10/31-No one was terribly hungry when we got up and decided to just wait until we got to AK to grab a bite of breakfast. We ended up getting muffins and cherry danish at a stand by the safari, they were fine. We had planned on eating lunch at AK but nothing was appealing to any of us. We decided to go have lunch at Epcot at the F&W festival booths. That day we tried the beet salad, beef tenderloin, lamb sliders, lobster roll, and german sausages in pretzel rolls. Everything was really good with the standouts being the lamb sliders and sausages according to the 14yo. We then had a bit of a sweet tooth and found ourselves in front of Norway. We got a school bread and a chocolate mousse cake. I liked the new school bread. The custrad tasted the same, the bread was light and flufy and I liked the toasted coconut. I didn't notice the glaze being "carmel" flavored, it tasted the same to me. The mousse cake not so much. Very dense, almost crumbly, this was the 5yo choice and we limited his choices after that!!
We had a 6:30 adr at Raglan Road and we had never dined here before. We had planned on trick or treating in DTD but we got so much candy the night before it was not really necessary. We were seated quickly and had a very nice table in the center of the room. Out waiter was very efficent and engaging but we did have some difficulty at he end of the meal. He quickly took our drink orders and explained the evenings specials as well as highlighting some of the menus best dishes. The 5yo ordered the kids shrimp, my sister the fish and chips and I got the chowder dish. My son opted for the special ribeye that night which was not on the menu but had been offerd as a special. We also order the gin and tomato soup which was fantastic. All of our meals were wonderful. Very fllavorful and beutifully presented. At this point the waiter inquired as to if we would be ordering dessert. I said yes, we were on the dining plan and would like dessert. At that point he let me know that my sons dinner was an exclusion on the dining plan and would not be coverd. To this I responded "Oh, you didn't tell us this was an exclusion." His response was, "You didn't tell me you were on the dining plan". I did not want to spoil what had been a lovley meal so decided to just suck it up. We orderd dessert, bread pudding, toffe pudding and ice cream for the 5yo. The bread pudding was really a great dessert. My sis loved the sticky toffe pudding and shared it with my son since he didn't order any dessert. The kids went outside to wait while we settled the bill and I was annoyed by the dismissive attitude of our waiter. When I made the ADR I was asked if we were on the dining plan and really felt the waiter should have confirmed if we were on the plan and let us know of any exclusions. I paid the bill and decided to discuss the incident with a manager. I asked for the manager at the hostess stand and she approached me after 1-2 minutes. I told her what a lovely meal we had, and how much we enjoyed the food, but was dissipointed about he server not explaining the exclusions of the plan. She immediatley apologized and offered to remove the charges and use an additional TS credit. That is all I wanted and was very happy for the quick, efficinet resolution. (BTW the ribeye special was $2 more than the sirloin that was on the menu, my son just wanted steak and would have happily ordered the sirloin if he knew the ribeye was excluded).

Well, I need to take a break for now. I will updated more later-Toy Story Pizza Planet and PFTS on 11/01. Thanks for reading-Gail

Back for more?? Here goes..
11/01-Started the day at DHS TSM is a great ride and we managed to ride twice using FP. After that and a spin on RRC and some ToT, we were ready for lunch. Now myself, Sis and DS14 were attending PFTS that evening so we knew we wanted to eat a bit early and not over eat. The 5yo wanted pizza so we were off to Toy story pizza planet. Now I am not a fan of mass produced pizza but this place is really not bad. Better than Dominos or Little Ceasers. We shared 3 adult meals getting cheese, pepperoni, and veggie pizzas. They came with a small fresh salad and a cookie or rice crispie treat, and a drink. The lines moved quickly and there was plenty of seating upstairs. I am never excited to eat here but always surprised and pleased with the quality of the food.
The rest of the day was spent swimming at SAB and I know the boys got some ice cream from the walk up at Beaches and Cream. Very limited menu, basically only cups, cones, milke shakes and hot fudge sundaes. Fine for us but for those hoping to walk up and get one of theor signiture sundaes, only in the restaurant.
At 430 we took the 5yo to the Sandcastle club. Very nice space, super friendly staff, lots for him to do. He was thrilled ad we were off to PFTS.
My DH and I had attended just once before in 2004 so I was so excited to be going back. My sister and son are true foodies so the description of the event was very appealing to them. We walked around Epcot a bit and checked in between England and Canada. It was there we found out that Cat Cora would not be in attendance as her son had broken his arm and she had to return home. Oh well, it would have been fun to meet an Iron Chef but we were really there for the food! We lined up a little after six and barely made it into the space. We were in the very back and could just see the curtain. We chatted with lovley people who told us this was to be the least attended PFTS and that it was chocolate night. Yeah for us!! At 630 on the dot the curtains parted and we were let go into what my sister described later as a "Food orgy".
For those who have never been. There were 26 food stations scattered around the room, with an additional 26 wine, and spirit stations. Basically it is a giant cocktail party. We walked around and sampled food, shared a table with a a delightful older couple who really got a kick out of my 14yo foodie. When asked if he was enjoying himself his response was " this is is best time I've ever had eating". The highlights for us was the international cheese selections, amazing variety my favorite being the white stilton with mango and ginger. The lamb loin with fingerling potatoes was my DS favorite(he got his 4 times), the short ribs I mentioned earlier were amazing, and the seared scallop with black truffle sauce delicious. So much food, so many choices. We sampled quite a few wines and champagnes, loved the Fairy Tale Cuvee, which starting next year will be renamed Celebration Cuvee. The pours were really generous and we could not try nearly as many of the offerings as we would have liked. I know, we did not need to finish every glass but many were so good we just did not want to stop. I can't say the desserts were out of this world. One or two were very good. The hand made truffles were nice but we really just took a small nibble of each. My son got a candy apple mousse with red hot sauce early in the evening and this was a fantastic dessert. When we went searching for it later in the evening it was gone so I guess everyone else thought so too. After 2 1/2 hours of eating, drinking, and chatting, we stepped outside to finish the evening with Illuminations. The walk back to Beach Club was much needed as we were so full and maybe just a little tipsy?!!) . While the cost of this event is prohibitive, we found it well worth it. We love this event and know we will be back again.

11/02-Daylight saving time. Don't you just love getting an extra hour of vacation? Unfortunatly we all worke up rather early and while not really hungry my sis and I were in need of some breakfast. (see above) We decide to take a drive over to pepper market for a proper breakfast as the Beach Club has very limited CS options for breakfast. Pepper market was great for breakfast. Made to order eggs, ommlets, waffles, pancakes ets. At 8:00 am there was virtually no crowd. Very fresh fruit, muffins, even grits. (My sis and nephew are from Texas). Hard to belive this was all just 4 CS credits but really am not going to argue with Disney!
Spent the day at Epcot, much more crowded today than Friday. We had ADRs at Primetime for 430 as we were going to try to catch the 700 Fantasmic show. Everyone was dragging from late evenings and early mornings so we decided to cancel and see if we could get Cape May for later in the evening. We managed to get a 700 ADR and spent some more time at EPCOT. Miyugi was supposed to perform at 215 but she was a no show and later they made an announcement that she would not be out until 400. We wee a little hungry (as impossible as that sounds) by 1230 or so so decided to nosh a little in the ocuntries. DS went for the lamb sliders and pretzel rolll sausages again. Sis and I were looking for some middleastern food and the booth offerings did not appeal. We decided to split the schwarma platter at Tangerine cafe. Huge disapointment. Bland hummas, bland lentil salad, tabouleh that was nothing but parsley. the chicken and lamb schwarma was fine, but really nothing special. This was to be the begining of blah food for the rest of the day. Maybe we just could not be satisfied after the amazing feast the night before.
After some much needed rest back at BC we went down to the lobby to check into Cape May. I had read this was always well liked and had solid reveiws but I cannot agree. We were seated quickly and our server was very friendly but we found that the organization of the buffet was difficult to navigate. There were never any bowls for the soup and no one to approach to ask for one. My sis finally flagged down a server who got her a bowl and did say the chowder was nice. The 5yo was happy enough, the kid loves mussels and ate nearly a whole bucketful. They were ok, better than the clams which wer sandy and dried out. My DS could find nothing to satisfy him and I felt the same. The beef was just plain bad. Like an over cooked rump roast, the chicken was roasted and had no flavor, he would have eaten pizza if it had ever been replensihed. I found the veggies to be underdone, and the past was just yuck. The salmon was good, suprisingly flavorful and moist. Now, I know I had read the desserts were good. Oreo bon bons, key lime tarts, mango cheesecakes. Well yuck, yuck, yuck! Not one worth more than a taste. Again maybe our palates had just been too spoiled from all the amazing food the night before. I guess if you were starving Cape May would be a good choice, but really there are so many better options at WDW we will definetly not be going back. I know lots of folks love it so I will just chalk it up to a bad night.

Enough for now!! Coming up-do we risk another buffet or change our plans again?? Jiko or Boma??

Thanks for the reviews! I enjoyed the Pizza Planet review, my kids are looking forward to it!:thumbsup2
