Dining reservations hard to get

Greetings,
Heading out to WDW in two weeks and we have a couple of spots for dining reservations left to fill. I've been online for a while and it seems when I can get into a restaurant, it's at 3 PM or 9 PM, nothing in-between.
I was wondering if they hold back some reservations for the internet impaired and if so, when do they release them? Can I go to the restaurant early on the same day and make a reservation? How about the day before or two days?

You don't have much choice but to try. Anytime we have tried during a dining promotion we have never had much luck.

It will be great luck if you get in to a restaurant at a better time at this point since ADRs open 90 days in advance. Even making ADRs that early sometimes doesn't get you the restaurants that you want or the times that you want. Two weeks before is almost impossible.

You can try going to the restaurant the day or so before but I wouldn't expect much luck there, either.

It is unlikely to get a better time this close to your travel date. I would recommend you pick a time and when the day comes you can call them and see if you can move earlier/later...that has worked for us

Thanks for all of the bad news.

My wife was booking reservations today and she tried the Brown Derby on our Anniversary and she snagged a dinner time, up from our previous late lunch. So, we'll just keep trying and hope to get a cancellation. I'm also going to try when we get to the parks to see if they hold some reservations for concierges and walk-ups as they do on DCL. If that fails, we'll be dining at odd times in unexpected places, all a part of the adventure.
