I've been lurking this board for the past couple of weeks planning for my trip - to pay back all the info I've gotten I just wanted to give my dining reservation experience.

Going for 7 days 6 nights in September. I was able to get everything I wanted at the time I wanted. (Liberty Tree, Coral Reef, Kona, Wolfgang Puck, Boma, Chefs de France) Furthermore, the impression I got from the phone rep was that everything was still pretty wide open.

My take is you are obviously better off having reservations than not, but those that have yet to book for September with the free dining probably should not get too worried about being left out in the cold.

I totally agree, it seems like there are a LOT of open dining spots. I have made my reservations and changed them twice in the past two weeks (and I think its perfect, no more changes!). I was able to choose my times for every place except Le Cellier. We'll be going to Kona, O'hanas, Le Cellier, Hollywood and Vine (Fantasmic), Concourse & Chef de France. I've never stayed in a hotel in Orlando (always had family to crash with) and I've never eaten anything in the parks except for cheap counter service stuff (and I've been there so many times..that's a lot of hambugers). I can't wait to do the whole thing, hotel, food & parks! :woohoo:

The smaller your party, the easier it is to change or add ressies. I've tried to change a few for our 9/29 through 10/8 trip... with not nearly as much success.... but those meals were for 7 people.... and most restaurants are giving us 2 tables instead of one large.

:sunny:

I've changed our ADRs twice already and we were able to get everything we wanted at the time we wanted. And we're a family of 6.

Well you guys are just frustrating me...I have called every day to try to switch a couple of my meals, and EVERYTHING I have tried is booked. For 6 people, and for 2 people and for 4 people. I can't get anything switched. :sad2:

I'm glad you've been able to get the times you needed though.

We will be there the first week of Sept and I am having a hard time changing ADRs. We too are a party of 6. Glad some of you are having better luck.

We are staying the last week of Sept and when I started to try and book 90 days in advance, I was able to get the restaurants but not the times I wanted at all and it's just 3 of us. Chef Mickey's and Akershus we had to take a later dinner time.

End of Sept here. We changed our trip by one day and so had to rearrange some ADRs. Forget about Le Cellier, booked solid! Chef Mickeys had nothing avavilable for dinner until 8:00. I took a late breakfast (11:20).

Just last week I got Princess Storybook breakfast for 10/2, but the day I really wanted was booked solid. I also got 'Ohana for 10/3. Perhaps it all depends of the popularity of the restaurant. I don't think I could get LeCellier at this late date if I tried. (Good thing I booked that one 180 days out.) :cool1:
