Dining Reservation question

I was trying to make a dining reservation at the GF Café for Dec 21 and was told I needed a cc to hold the reservation.
Since when do you need a CC for the Casual Restaurants??.
Is this policy for dining on the week of Christmas ??. TIA

I don't remember exactly when the new policy started, but it has been in place for months now. You need to cancel by 11:59 PM the night before or you are charged $10/person if you do not show.

This policy change applies to all table service restaurants and began back in early Nov 2013.

We also had to use a CC for reservations last October.
