Made my dining reservations for our Sept 22 trip 90 days out for the 4 of us..now my step son is coming with us. I don't dare change the reservations since Disney has to cancel and rebook everything and I wont get any of what I have now. So do I just take a chance and walk up when its our reservation and say its now 5? It would be 2 adults, 2 10 year olds and a 2 year old.

I would try as hard as possible to change the reservations, especially since you are moving up from 4 to 5. There is a possibility that they will either tell you there will be a long wait or that they cannot seat the 5th person at all.

I would call to see what could be done and not walk up and take a chance. In the past when making ressies for different party size it seem that there are table for parties up to 4, tables for up to 6 and tables for up to 10. TIMO So I would say they book according to how many of these tables they have. I know for my family of four we have never got anything bigger than a table for 4 even before my DS1 came along and we were just 3.

This happened to us during the busy X-mas season last year at Chef Mickey the most sought out resturant and no problem.

We were there last week and my son decided to do Hoop Dee Doo with his cousins and they went from 5 to 6 persons no problem and this was during the free dining craziness.

Don't worry, they will just make you wait until the next table for 5 opens up which may or may not be longer than a table for 4.
