We are arriving at DL on Friday the 27th of January and staying unitl Wed. morning. Trying to figure out our dining options. Last year we had breakfast with the princesses at the Plaza but were not well planned beyond that. My thought was to do a character breakfast on Wednesday am before we leave for out flight, either storytellers or goofy's. what else to folks recommend, Also will I need PS for that time of year? thanks

The 27th of what?!? This month the 27th is a Sunday.

We did Storyteller's on Wednesday morning (Nov 9) before we left for our flight. We got our PS around 8 a.m. for a 9:20 seating, it was a spur of the moment choice. What they told me was that the early times are much harder to get, if you eat later in the morning it's not as big a deal as most people are rushing to get to the parks. I'd get one if I were you, you don't have to use it, if you change your mind or your time.

We picked Storyteller's because we wanted to order off a menu and Goofy's is only a buffet (Storyteller's has both a buffet and the menu). It was really pretty inside and it has small--and large--woodland creatures as the characters to match the theme of the restaurant. We saw the brother bears, chip and dale, and some gorilla from Tarzan. Food was decent--not fabulous but not horrible either. All in all a good experience.

Sorry, have now edited original ? We are going in January......

We just went to Goofy's Kitchen on Saturday AM for the character breakfast and really enjoyed it! There were 15 of us and the PS worked well...we were seated within a few minutes of our time. One of the girls in our party was having a birthday and the characters went out of their way to make it extra special for her. Everyone was laughing through the whole meal. The food was pretty darn good too, especially for a buffet. We make sure and go there every trip, there is so much variety it is hard to decide what to eat!

Are you looking for dinner ideas? We had dinner at Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen on Friday night and had an amazing meal and a fabulous waiter. :flower:

If you know you will defintiely be doing that meal, I would suggest booking a priority seating. It can never hurt to have one booked.

I have dined at Goofys Kitchen twice over the past 3 months and really enjoyed it. The food is delicious and there is a huge variety. The character interaction was good the first time, but excellent the second.

As for other meals, you may want to try the Blue Bayou restuarant, located in the Pirates of the Caribbean. The food and atmosphere here are very good.

We had reservations for all the favorite places people talk about but we were a bit disapointed with the Blue Bayou. We had 11:30 reservations and arrived 11:25 and got the water seats. DH ordered pork loin, DD ordered chicken florentine and I had the crab cakes and although the service was quick nothing was particularly hot - the food was barely warm and nothing to write home about. None of us ate more than half of the food on our plates and I think it was over $50.00. We came out thinking that the BB was highly over rated. We did enjoy the lettuce wraps at the Rain Forrest and loved the Lilo and Stitch Breakfast (stitch was hillarious). We also had reservations for the second balcony seating for Fantasmic. We were worried that our seats would be lousy because we got the last 3 seats over the phone but our seats were in the front row over to one side and the view was unobstructed. We really did not need the balcony seats though because there was loads of places to see the show on the ground (this was Friday Nov 18th) and the desserts were alright (although none of us went back for seconds), my daughter liked the cheesecake and I had a nice fruit kabob, it was pretty hard to get worked up about eating at 10:30 at night LOL also the drinks had so much ice in them they tasted like mostly water (diet coke for me and lemonade for DH & DD) I asked for a different diet coke and the next one tasted the same way, I think it's mainly because they are 3/4 crushed ice.
I would also recommend the dole whips, bengal barbque and the chicken fingers at the Golden Horseshoe.
