Dining Questions!

We are on the Dec. 6th (Western) cruise-7night

I haven't firmed anything as far as what I would love for a dining roation (I don't think I care) However I want to get some ideas for what to expect.

We are a family of 4 (36, 36 & 7 & 5) While I want the boys at dinner for Animators Palate - (they will love it!) I am not stuck on them being at Dinner with us each night - they don't like to be held from fun and honestly food is not an interest that will hold them to long!

I was hoping to be seated with another family (couple) so we can have some good conversation. Just wondering if we will be seated with others or because we are a party of 4 ( with kids)they will put us alone!

Also, what night is Formal Night usually held?

I would suggest you go to the board listing for who is cruising when & start a thread for your date. You will probably meet several DISers by doing that & can link your dining reservations with them.

I am not going to plan to link dinner resi's with anyone right now, I want to know if Disney will seat us with others on their own or is a party of 4 to big to do that with?

Does anyone know?

Last year we found that they'd seated us by ourselves. So we went to the dining change location the first day and asked to be seated with another family. We ended up w/ people from our DIS thread and had the most wonderful time! They were very happy to accomodate us since most people want to be "by themselves" and we wanted to be at a big table! So whatever happens, you can change it to your preference!

Our family of 4 has sailed twice and both times were were seated with others. First time was fine, nice people but nothing connected. Second time was great - we still keep in touch.
