dining questions

okay i have a few questions about eating in DLP some might seem stupid but please bear with me. should point out we're going 14th-18th feb have got half board plus vouchers and it's me, DP, DP's twin and LO who turns 1 while we're there :
1) out of interest how much are the vouchers worth at face value if we did want to trade them in?
2) where would people recommend for us? DP and LO have very big appetites and me and DP's twin aren't far behind!
3) as it's low season which places are likely to be closed?
4) will we need reservations?

No idea about the vouchers never having had them or seen them

If they are really big eaters it would make more sense to go for the buffets of which there are many

What sort of food do you all like ?

You will have to phone up the restaurant reservations so they can tell you which t/s-buffet restaurants will be closed as there are no fixed times for any of them - you can do this mid Decembre.

C/s restaurants closures will only be known when you get there on a day to day basis - you can ask at City Hall as it saves you trailing from one shut one to another.

The only place that seems really advised to reserve whatever the season is Café Mickey for all the others I think you will be fine in that period but you could always reserve and then change them around upon arrival depending on your mood

We had half-board plus vouchers for the first time this summer and IIRC the face value was €31. It is better to use the vouchers as vouchers because they then include a drink which they don't if used at face value but of course this all depends on whether you fancy what's on the menu and IMO the voucher menus in the table service restaurants are a bit restrictive.

For that reason I think buffets are better with vouchers and I also second Carrie's advice that they're ideal for big appetites. They're all you can eat so you can go up as many times as you like and also your LO will eat free at them.

We ate at Cape Cod (Newport Bay) which was delicious, Parkside Diner (Hotel New York) which was OK and Agrabah Cafe which was also wonderful.

If you look at the restaurant list on DLRP Magic here it specifies which restaurants come under the standard plus plan. OK it wasn't cost-effective us eating at Agrabah Cafe which is for a standard voucher but the food and theming are so worth it IMO that we didn't mind.

(My apologies for not having put any reviews in the appropriate threads but since our return real life has been a bit pants and I just haven't had chance.)
