I swore I posted this yesterday, but my mind is going so maybe I did, maybe I didn't?
Anyway, my wife and I are cruising with her sister and husband in May on a 7-night cruise. We are Gold castaway
members and my sister in-law is silver. So, we can book specialty dining a couple weeks before them. We are wanting to
get a Palo brunch and dinner for the 4 of us. Can I book the brunch and dinner for the 4 of us at our window opening or
do we need to book for the 2 of us, then try to add them after their window opens?

Unless you have a gold member in each cabin, you will have to book separately.

You'll have to book for just the 2 of you, then either try to add the others or have them book a separate reservation for 2 at/near the same time as yours. If it's 2 separate reservations, go to the Dining Changes location at embarkation and ask them to join the 2.

We've done that before. We were Gold and our friends were Platinum so they booked Palo as soon as they could and then when we were able to book we worked together to rebook for all six of us. Then two other friends joined at the last minute. They were able to get a reservation for brunch and dinner and just selected times as close to our dining times as possible. Then we went to wherever you were supposed to go to make changes and asked them to consolidate us. They put us in the separate room for dinner which I think is the only spot that accommodates eight people (Magic). For brunch there weren't tables of 8 and the room where we'd had dinner was where they had the buffet or something else was going on so they put us at a table for 6 and a table for 2 right beside us.

So while they can't guarantee anything, they will try to work things out. Best thing to do is for the early people to book something as soon as possible, then when you're able try to get something for all of you and, if not, try to get it as close as possible timewise and then try to rearrange when on ship.

This happens all the time with our cruise buddies who are platinum while we were gold. We have always been able to book a dinner or brunch around the same time and then when we get onboard, the Palo manager has always been able to get us a table together.
