Dining Question

DH and I will be at DLP Saturday and Sunday, March 28 and 29, and the morning of March 30. Since we have such a short visit and we want to spend as much time as possible at the attractions (and shopping!), I'm not making any dining reservations. Since this is the weekend before Easter, will the parks/restaurants be crowded? How difficult is it to walk into a table or buffet service restaurant and be seated?

Also, we're staying at SL and I understand breakfast is included but we'll have an assigned time to eat. If we skip eating at the hotel to get into the park early for EMH, are there breakfast options (especially coffee) available in the parks?

I've never been at that time of year so can't help you there, however I can confirm there is coffee in the parks. I'm not sure if they're currently doing it but sometimes they offer a 'Good Morning Fantasyland' breakfast where you can have breakfast in the park instead of your hotel one morning. We normally grab breakfast/ tea and coffee from Earl of Sandwich on our way though Disney Village on the way to the parks and eat it on the go.

we go for early breakfast and hit the parks just at 8am. Works fine for us. I've seen some places open for breakfast, but that's rare. Weekend always tend to be crowded. There will be some event going on that weekend, something cheer-leading, so I expect it to be crowded. And I would make reservations for table or buffet service restaurants to save me time.
Starbucks in Disney village will be open, MCDonalds for coffee might be open too.

EoS doesn't open until 10.00 am. McDo and Starbucks both open at 8.00 and both have breakfast options. The other solution is to do EMH and then go back to your hotel for breakfast

You could go for an early breakfast at the hotel, we often went outside our allotted time without problem, then get to the parks for 8am. Or when you check in you could ask to have breakfast in the park instead of at the hotel? It was offered to us last month.

There are also a couple of places open on Main Street during EMH where you can grab a pastry and coffee - usually Market House Deli and Cable Car Bakehouse.

Even if you get given a later breakfast slot you can still go in at an earlier time

Thanks everyone! I don't think we'll get to a sit-down restaurant, especially if it's crowded. I was just hopeful we might be surprised and find the extra time. We're really looking forward to the rides, even though Space Mountain and Phantom Manor (two of my favorites at DL and WDW) will be closed
