hey guys, we have our first trip planned for blt in february. first trip home since we bought in this april. cant wait! we've decided with the kidlets to get the ddp. i've seen the link on dvc homepage for dining. do any of you know if it's possible to have your ta book them instead?

i really don't like the online booking system, and our ta has always been awesome in getting us what we want for our trips. i booked aprils trip last yr, then signed some paperwork for her to take over so she could do the dining ressies. god love her cus on her am off she got every last one we wanted.

You can get someone else to call and make reservations, but unless you're going to pay the TA, or she's a friend and is doing it as a favor, I'm not sure why she would.

You can't sign control of a DVC reservation over to a travel agent, the way you did with a cash reservation. It's not a hotel reservation, it's you using your ownership interest in a timeshare. Only persons listed on the contract can own a reservation. So there'd be no financial benefit whatsoever for her to do this.

If you're not able to call and make the reservations yourself, perhaps a friend or family member could do it for you? If you're going to use the 180+10 window, they would need your DVC reservation number. If not, all they'd need is a phone number. If you're making reservations that require a credit card, you'd need to give them that as well.

she is a very good friend and we've spent over ten thousand over 2 trips via her travel agency. she's more than glad to help. plus my airline ressies were booked through her anyways, so she is still connected to our trip regardless.

as for us doing it, were in canada and dont have a long distance plan so it would be through the roof to call. i know i can't sign it over to her cus we own it etc, but i don't want her to go to the trouble of calling to book them and them give her a hard time saying oh we can't do it cus they are dvc members etc. i'm not sure how the dining works when you buy it on dvc, in regards to the booking process, ie if it was linked to the ressie number they emailed etc.

no friends around that would be able to call and hubbys family thinks were nuts for going so often, and they've refused to help us with it before(which is why im so greatful for my awesome ta!).

thanks for your help!

You agent, if she is willing, can call the regular dining line and make the reservations like anyone else. She would need to give them your name, but would likely not be able to do the 180+10, as regular dining line can not tie it into a DVC reservation like Member Services. And she can not call Member Services.

I've found the online dining reservaton system extremely easy to use, and have always gotten a reservation within 30 minutes of my desired time.
