Hi!

I am a 1st time poster so sorry if I am in the wrong place :)

We will be going to the Very Merry Christmas Party - any suggestions for dining prior to the party? in or out of Magic Kingdom? 14 people staying at a monorail resort ...

Thanks!!

Welcome:cool1::cool1::cool1:

I would try for a 4 -5 reservation inside MK. That way when you are done dining you will have a few extra hours in MK before the party starts.

:welcome:

We're doing the MVMCP twice this year and both nights we are having an early dinner in the MK before the party. (Well, we will finalize that as soon as our booking window opens up). We'll be having dinner at Cinderella's Royal Table on night one and we'll be going to Tony's Town Square on night two.

Another great choice on the monorail would be 1900 Park Fare at the Grand Floridian. That is always one of our favorites.

Have a wonderful trip! pixiedust:

I wouldn't get a reservation at all. I'd do CS before the MVMCP and do a TS for lunch, maybe. We've done it both ways and find the CS option is better due to it being quicker and ensuring we don't miss any MVMCP events that you can't get on normal days. Since MVMCP is a hard-ticket event it does not count against your regular admission for the day (if you aren't getting park hoppers) so you can go to any other park during the day (or the MK if you want) and then leave that park and go to the MK for MVMCP at night and eat anywhere you'd like. I still prefer the CS dinner option on MVMCP days, however.

I would choose one of two options.

#1...Make your big meal of the day lunch, and then just have a snack while watching the parade at the party.

#2...get the earliest seating available at Wave/Contemporary resort. Have a great dinner and walk over to enjoy the party.

Don't waste a lot of party time on dinner, as there is so much to see and do.

We booked the Plaza at 5:00 so we can eat before the party starts. That way we will already be inside the MK by the time things start.

This may not work well since you are with a large group but in the past we have skiped the park until party time. That day we slept in fooled around the resort then made our way to downtown for a late lunch, looked in a few stores and then went to the park for the party. In the past you have been able to get in a bit earlier than the posted time. We the did all the rides we wanted to then did the special events in our own time. With the late start no one was to cranky by fireworks time.

This will be our 3rd MVMCP, and it's become a tradition to have an early dinner (between 4 and 5 pm) at the Plaza Restaurant (mostly sandwiches). We really enjoy doing this, but it's a smallish place and 14 of you may fill up the whole restaurant!

Have fun!

Hi OP, and welcome to the Disboards. Warning, it's addictive!

We will be going to MVMCP, and I booked a 4:30pm reservation at 1900 Park Fare (their earliest dinner time). We're looking forward to dining with the Cinderella gang before party time!!

Best of luck, have a great time planning! ;)

Are you on the dining plan and want to spend money on a big meal? Last year we went to 1900 Park Fair at the Grand Floridian and got a 4:45 dinner reservation as that gave us enough time to get to the party early, which was important to us

We are going to the Christmas Party on the 11th and I have decided to do lunch at Whispering Canyon Cafe so we can enjoy the WL decorations and then head to the MK around 4. We are staying at the Poly and arriving that day so I thought after checkin we could just take the monorail around to the other resorts to see the decorations, then hop the boat or bus to WL. I just didn't want to waste party time eating!

We are staying at a monorail resort too...I think we are going to try for Tonys early, like 5pm or so.....we used to do CP but the food isnt as fab as it used to be

We decided that since we have tickets for MVMCP and can enter the MK at 4 p.m., we wouldn't "waste" a park ticket for that day. We made a late breakfast reservation at Chef Mickey's, will pop over to DTD for a few hours and then get to MK at 4 p.m.

We'll just pick up some CS so we don't waste too much time. Gotta get our $$ worth at the party!!!!

Avoid the park crowds, eat at your resort before the party then walk over or use the monorail ot the park.

We are likely eating at a resort then taking the bus over to MK for MNSSHP; probably CS. We'll use our TS for a buffet breakfast prior to starting our park day.

we arrive the day of our party and have decided to do dinner at CP- hope to get an early seating. Hoping for 4pm. and go to the party afterwards

But does anyone know what time you can get into the MK on the day of the party?

Are you talking about going to the party? I think you can get in at 4 pm with tickets to the party. At least I'm pretty sure that's what it was when we went to MNSSHP a few years ago. But it may have changed.

As for a replay to the OP, with a party that large going to MVMCP my suggestion is just doing a CS meal. We're going to MVMCP (6 of us) this year and doing just that. We are on the DDP and our plans are to save our TS towards a signature restaurant that requires 2TS credits.
