Thanks soooo much!

Here are my answers:

1. Favorite breakfast buffet in WDW (resort or park)

My favorite breakfast in WDW would have to be Askershus Princess Breakfast. For buffet I would say Chef Michey's (it is also the only breakfast buffet I have been too...)

2. Favorite italian restaurant

We enjoyed Mama Melrose's. The bread appetizer was really good and the grilled shrimp pasta dish they had was one of my favorite meals of our last trip

3. Favorite character meal with re: to food quality

Definately Cinderella's Royal Table. The setting is beautiful and the lunch was really good. My DD (who was celebrating her 5th bday) really liked her special appetizer plate.

4. Favorite and most fun restaurant experience

Thats a tough one. Liberty Tree Tavern had very good food and the characters were fun and plentiful. We really enjoy Mexico for the ambiance and food. The outdoor stand is pretty darn nice as well. LeCellier was fantastic. I am not sure I can pick a favorite!!

5. Favorite Epcot world showcase restaurant

The restaurants in Mexico would probably win.

6. Least favorite WDW restaurants, in a park and at a resort

Ohana was the meal I was least enthusiastic about. Where we were seated contributed to that (we were not in the main room) but the quality of the food wasn't up to par in our opinion

1. Favorite breakfast buffet in WDW (resort or park)

Crystal Palace at Magic Kingdom with Pooh and Friends
2. Favorite italian restaurant

Mama Melrose at Hollywood Studios

3. Favorite character meal with re: to food quality

Crystal Palace at the Magic Kingdom--love the puffed french toast

4. Favorite and most fun restaurant experience

Biergarten in Germany in World Showcase at Epcot. Loved the food and the music.

5. Favorite Epcot world showcase restaurant

LeCELLIER without a doubt!

6. Least favorite WDW restaurants, in a park and at a resort

Boatwright's at the POR. Lousy service, way too loud and the food was the worse we ever had. We had better steaks at Ponderosa

1. Favorite breakfast buffet in WDW (resort or park)

This would have to be Crystal Palace with Pooh and the gang.

2. Favorite italian restaurant

DTD the Portabello Yacht Club - The signiture seafood pasta dish is to die for.

3. Favorite character meal with re: to food quality

I only have a few to judge by but I would have to say CP dinner was my favorite but we have children with us for that experience.

4. Favorite and most fun restaurant experience

I would have to give this to Ohana for the entertainment and Coral Reef for the atmosphere.

5. Favorite Epcot world showcase restaurant

My new favorite is Chefs De France. We had very good food!!!

6. Least favorite WDW restaurants, in a park and at a resort

The place I liked the least was the San Angel Inn in Epcot. But I really have very few complaints about the TS dinners we have had.

We have taken two trips and have done a lot of research on the DIS boards for ideas. The first trip was was DF (68), DM (63), DH (36), Me (35), DD8 and DD4. The second we ditched the DF and the DM and went by ourselves. Here are our answers.

1. Favorite Breakfast Buffet

BreakfastOSaurus in AK
We have gone their both time and one of advantages toward getting the early ADR is to make sure that you are in the park with the doors open. This also gets you the ability to not have to wait for the in demand attactions (e.g. Kilamanjaro Safari or Expedition Everets). Please note that this has moved to the Yak & Yeti

2. Favorite Italian Restaurant

Alfredo's in EPCOT
This has since changed ownership and with it the menu. I have not heard how the new restaurant is.

3. Favorite Character Meal wrt Food Quality

Crystal Palace in MK
We are not Pooh fanatics by any stretch of the imagination, but we found the food to be really fantastic

4. Favorite and Most Fun Restaurant Experience

50's Prime Time Cafe
Really good food:thumbsup2 The CMs/waitresses make every effort to sound like your mother (which is funny when they are not). We were also able to find pieces in the decor that some family member had in their possession at one point in time. My DH found an ice bucket that we inherited from his Grandmother. My DM found drapes that matched her sister's in the 70's

5. Favorite EPCOT world Showcase Restaurant

Alfredo's
See Above

6. Least favorite WDW Restaurants

Princess Breakfast at Akershus in EPCOT
Mind you, you are not paying for the food, you are paying for the high princess to meal ratio. However, the food seemed skimpy and un-appetizing. It wasn't in-edible, but definitely not our favorite.

Hope you have fun! Let's us know what you decide.

Replies from 2 adult women travelling with a 6yo boy

1. Favorite breakfast buffet in WDW (resort or park)
Have done Chef Mickey's and loved it (1900 PF and Boma are on the to do list)

2. Favorite italian restaurant n/a

3. Favorite character meal with re: to food quality
We really enjoyed 1900PF years ago for dinner, but its changed so our experience is irrelevant; Chef Mickey's bfast in 2007 gets the nod

4. Favorite and most fun restaurant experience
Chef Mickey's, the characters, music, napkin waving, family photo, monorail all rock to give this one the "great time" championship! The buffet is extensive...3 cheese eggs is awesome; mom loved the veggie lasagna; nephew loved the action and just couldn't focus on the food

5. Favorite Epcot world showcase restaurant
Coral Reef...atmosphere and food

6. Least favorite WDW restaurants, in a park and at a resort
Peco Bills bad food, no take out containers hard to use fixins bar; we ate while watching Pirate and Princess parade; none of us enjoyed our food

You don't really have a best restaurant category. For us that would be Narcoossee's. I would do that one before any other restaurant at Disney!

Hope that helps :thumbsup2

1. Favorite breakfast buffet in WDW (resort or park)

We really enjoyed Ohana's at the Poly

2. Favorite italian restaurant

Haven't tried any

3. Favorite character meal with re: to food quality

We liked Crystal Palace (the buffet was yummy)

4. Favorite and most fun restaurant experience'

We loved Whispering Canyon Cafe ~ our three girls just loved the fun the cm's were having and the skillet meal was awesome! The Coral Reef has great atmosphere too.

5. Favorite Epcot world showcase restaurant

We've only done a cs, but this year we can't wait to try Biergarten

6. Least favorite WDW restaurants, in a park and at a resort

We've only been once, but for our last trip it would have to be Liberty Tree Tavern. I hate saying that, because the character interaction was great and it's a neat place to go. The food was just average though. It wasn't terrible though.

1. Fresh Med Market
2. Il Mulino
3. 1900 (liked CRT but so pricey)
4. Coral Reef
5. Too close to call!
6. Akershus, love the pastries in Norway though

They don't really fall in any category, but we've always liked FF and the Brown Derby too

I can answer a few of those!

Favorite breakfast buffet--The Crystal Palace. Love Tigger, Pooh, Pigglet, and Eyeore. The food is good, and I have fun watching all of the kiddies interact with the characters. It is a bright, fun place!

Favorite character meal, food--Cinderella's Gala Feast at the Grand Floridian. I have had dinner here twice, and both times waddled out so full I thought I was going to explode! Prime rib, salmon, pasta. Yum, yum, yum!

Most fun restaurant--Chef Mickey's. Everyone wave your napkin!

Favorite Epcot World Showcase restaurant--I'll say the Biergarten, just because it is the last one I was at. Good buffet, fun entertainment, and it is fun to meet new people and chat with them over dinner.

Answering #3 - Garden Grill in Epcot (the Land) has the best food for a character meal. The restaurant revolves (so slowly you don't feel it, but the scenery changes so it's fun!). It isn't a buffet, but served family style. The salad, made from greens that are grown right downstairs, is fresh, and the other offerings are tasty.

Answering #4 & #5 together - Ths will fulfill your "fun" and "world showcase" restaurant. Chefs de France has wonderful food, and atmosphere. Sit in the section to the right of the main entrance (sort of a windowed cafe) and you can watch the French juggling act, if it's going on outside the resatuarant. But before you eat, go to the "Impressions of France" movie! It is right next door to the resatuarant, and is a beautiful film with gorgeous classical music. After the film and your meal, you'll feel totally French-ified!

Have fun!

1. Favorite breakfast buffet in WDW (resort or park)
Chef Mickey's (It's also the only one we've done, but we have many planned for our Dec. 2008 trip.)

2. Favorite italian restaurant
Alfredo's it was in the WS at EPCOT, but as other's have said is closed

3. Favorite character meal with re: to food quality
Chef Mickey's

4. Favorite and most fun restaurant experience
Most fun - 'Ohana Character Breakfast, but mainly b/c my DS's love Stitch. There's nothing better than watching your little ones interact with their favorite character.
Favorite -Biergarten

5. Favorite Epcot world showcase restaurant
It's not just my favorite restaurant in the WS, but anywhere. Biergarten

6. Least favorite WDW restaurants, in a park and at a resort
Sci-Fi Dine In I loved the atmosphere, watching the old movie clips, and sitting in the cars which made it a lot of fun. It was the food that makes it my least favorite. My DH and I both had the Reuben, and honestly I can make a better one at home.

Thanks so much everyone!

Our favorite dining experiences were at O'hana and Whispering Canyon.

I remember Crystal Palace as being "ok", so the positive remarks are encouraging.

Since I was thinking about trying a breakfast buffet this time, I was considering the AK one, or maybe now Crystal Palace.

Thanks!
