Are they worth it? It seems very expensive to eat there but I don't want to waste the money before hand if there isn't any advantage.

I think so. It saves us some money

It's more of a convienence thing too. It's nice to have your meals already paid for.

Totally worth it for us!
We did the majority of our meals as Character or other "fun" resturants. It was great that the kids got to see characters without standing in line in the parks and they were kept occupied in the restaurants. The scheduled time was used as our breaks in the day.
It was nice to have everything paid for in advanced (except tips).

Dining plans are great if you eat a lot and if your trips to WDW are based on food. If you like to tour the parks and ride the rides then the dining plan might not be for you. When you get the dining plan, to make the most of your money you need to make your ADRs at the 90 day mark. Some people feel that this basically ties you to a schedule where you have to be at a restaraunt at certain times to make your ADRs. But if your are more of the person that likes to go with the flow and eat where and when you like and not plan too much ahead then the Dining plans are not for you.
Personally I rather spend more time in the parks riding attractions than sitting down eating. So the dining plan is not good for me.

The dining plan is great for us! We get a break from the parks and usually do character dining so my son can see and have photos with different characters without waiting in the parks.
Meals are paid for in advance and the plan does save some money vs OOP. Just save up for the tips.

It's totally worth it for us! The nicest thing about it may be having everything paid for before hand. I know we wouldn't eat a TS every night/morning if it wasn't for the Dining Plan. I'd recommend it to anyone!

The dining plan is definatley worth it. Before we did it we picked a restaurant, looked at the menu and decided from there what we would eat. We are a family of four with all but one on the adult dining plan. We compared the prices against the dining plan and they far out weighed what we paid for the dining plan. You might what to consider doing that as well, you'll see, its worth it!
Just in case you don't know where to view the menus of the restaurants in the dining plan, you can view them on www.allears.net. I hope this helps a bit. Good luck with your planning.

I love the dining plan for convenience and value!

I love having one meal a day where we sit and relax. I don't do the deluxe, so we are just having one TS a day. To me, it's not that much to plan one of those a day,and figure out your trip around it (or your ADR around your trip).

I loved not worrying about how much we were spending on meals, or having the extra cash to pay for it, or adding it to the credit card. I didn't bat an eye about ordering a $30 entree at Coral Reef and I loved it!

There aren't that may restaurants that are 2 TS credits either, so unless you are doing a lot of dinner shows or CRT, you won't be running out of them. The buffets can be pricey, but on the dining plan, not to worry. $40 a day per adult and $11 a day per child is a great deal for our family.....and it's all paid for in advance, which is great. All you have to worry about is alcoholic drinks and tips for TS.

It all depends on where you want to eat.. They also have the new CS plan, so if you don't want TS meals, that is another option that is very affordable.
