I do not normally go to DW. I have not been since the 1960's.

I have a friend who is going and is asking me about the dining plan.

I am familiar with all the types of dining plans that Disney WORLD has but what does DisneyLAND offer?

I have tried to search and I am finding nothing. Is this the case?:confused3

DL doesn't have a dinning plan like WDW. You get vouchers for set amounts of $. You don't get change back from the voucher. So for example if you spend $9.25 and the voucher is for $10, you're out .75 cents. So you have to be aware of what you are spending and what vouchers you are using. To me it would just be easier to pay OOP for meals.

They do not offer the same thing as WDW at all. The DL "dining plan" is pre-paying for vouchers for different dollar amounts in combination with character meals or "breakfast in the park" vouchers. There is no savings and you must spend the entire face amount of a voucher as you will not get any change refunded. Likewise, you may need to add a bit if the voucher does not quite cover. We did this in May because I simply wanted to pre-pay for everything and we ended up wasting a lot of food because of this. We also had vouchers left over (which we finished off in May - so good for us, but not good if you're not going back some time soon.....).

Some people do like it - but it's not for us and we won't be doing it again.

They're more work & they don't save you money. They are vouchers for character meals & dollar amts ($15, $10 & snacks). We did this last trip & I spent too much time trying to figure our what vouchers to use so I didn't lose money. This trip, we pre-bought gift cards to use instead!!

Thank you so much for this information. I will forward it to my friend.

What a shame. We are so spoiled by all the choices in Florida!:goodvibes
