We're looking at some options to rent from a DVC owner in December and wondering if we're able to add the Platinum Dining Plan to our stay? From what I've been able to find, it looks like we can add the Deluxe or the Premium, but I can't seem to figure out if Platinum is available or not?

Anyone?

Thanks!

ETA: Also, if we can add Platinum Dining - how do we go about using the itinerary planning services - do we do that once the owner adds dining to our rental - or do we need to have the owner take care of all that?

The only dining plans that can be added to a dvc reservations are the Quick Service, Basic and Deluxe.

Do you mean December 2009? You may be too late for that at this point. December is the most popular time at DVC and most of us book it at the 11 month mark. There are waiting lists soon after that.

What is the Platinum Dining Plan? I have never heard of it.

Basically it's the Deluxe dining plan, but you don't have to use 2TS for the signature restaurants and Victoria & Albert's is on your list of restaurant options.....you get cat 1 La Nouba tix.....also included are spa services, fireworks cruise, fantasmic seating without needing to do a package for that, unlimited golf, boat/watercraft use, archery, fishing excursions, etc. and unlimited admission to a bunch of tours they offer. We were thinking since Disney is crowded during Christmas, it may be a good time to splurge on that package and do lots of other things besides the parks....sure we'll go to the parks too, but the package would get us doing a lot of other things to do....with someone assigned to planning and reserving our desired itinerary. Sounded good - but no way do I want to pay Disney's rate for a room for the week to get it!

Sounds pretty cool. Thanks for the info on it.

Platinum isn't a dining plan (and neither is Premium). These are all-inclusive package plans that include dining, tours and recreation. They were around prior to the debut of the Disney Dining Plan (which became the multiple Disney Dining Plans as of 2008, when they had 2 dining plans. In 2009, they now offer 3).
