We've booked the DDP and a TS dinner each day based on the park we're going to be in that day. We have 3 kids (9, 9 and 11) and I like the idea that we'll be forced to sit down each evening (early -- I've scheduled most of them about 5:30 pm), be waited on, and take a break!
Based on the time of year you are going, and the popularity of the DP making TS restaurants much busier than they have been in the past, I'd say that, unfortunately, you will probably need to schedule most if not all of your TS meals ahead of time. You might feel a bit regimented, but IMO, wandering around searching for someplace to eat when you're hungry and all the TS restaurants are booked up wouldn't be fun, either. Look at it this way- make ADRs for a TS per day- if you decide not to go, you can always cancel, but at least you have a "fallback" if your go-with-the-flow plan doesn't pan out.
Again, great information and good ideas. I think planning a TS for each night would be no problem to do. I certainly would rather have reservations each night than running around hungry!
I know, I am making this more difficult than it needs to be. Basically the TS we need to make reservations for and we can do one each night. Might as well us them for dinner and make the most of the money. I would guess that those alone would be worth the price of the package for what it costs to eat at some of the nicer places there.
Another question I have is we will be in Disney 6 nights 7 days. I think I understand they go by the night? So does that mean you get 6 of each?(ts, cs & snack)
I am going to wait until the tickets go on sale for the Christmas Party and then plan the dinning. I understand that should be very end of April or beginning of May. Here is another dumb questions probably, how do you find out when they go on sale? Will it be on WDW website?
I don't know about the Christmas tickets, sorry. Yes, your meal credits are based on your nights. If you are there 6 nights, each person in your party will get 6 of each credit.
I thought that is how they worked. Just wanted to double check.
I am going to relax, sit down and figure out what we really want to do. When I estimated before it was only around $15.00 difference of course that was without tax cause I don't know what the rate is in Florida. I was however, using quite a few TS meals so we shall see.
I really don't think I want to be eating so much food. Might have to roll my around DW by the end of the week.
Thanks again to everyone for all their advice.
