Does anyone know if you can purchase a dining plan if you stay offsite? I would really appreciate feedback about the subject! Thank you =)

Dinning plans can only be bought in packages or by Dvc club or annual pass holders booking a stay in a disney hotel.

The disney package is hotel, tickets and the dining plan. You can't just buy the hotel and dinning you have to buy tickets from them also.

Disney is currently offering a room+dining plan to the general public. You have to call to get it. You cannot book it online. It's been discussed on the restaurant board. No need to purchase tickets. :)

These are the sort of things that I can't stand about disney, I'm an annual pass holder! Disney obligates you to buy park tickets to get a dining plan when I don't need park tickets!!! That's a total slap in the face to us pass holders that want to stay on site and get a dining plan!!! Does not make sense at all to me. If this makes sense for someone else please feel free to explain. >:( mad!!!

Thank you, that makes me feel a little better but it would be cool if you can buy a dining plan alone even if you stay offsite. Disney should be a little more flexible with their dining plan. They make enough $ as it is!!! They try to obligate you to stay onsite at their overpriced resorts which I believe is only worth it if you stay deluxe or higher. Disney's value resorts are no comparison to some of the other resorts you can stay offsite. I say if your planning to stay at a value resort onsite don't bother. I believe it's a big time ripoff!!! And the transportation is overrated unless your that lazy to drive, you get there much faster by car.

Your understanding of this is incorrect. Disney for years has allowed annual pass holders to buy the dining plan without purchasing additional tickets.

I am not sure why you have this understanding. Disney for years has allowed annual pass holders to buy the dining plan without purchasing additional tickets.

Why don't they give you this option when your booking on their site? Why do you have to call to add on the dining plan to your resort reservations.

As far as I know for annual passholders they do offer the option. I have not tried to do it though. I don't think the dining plan is worth the cost.

Thanks Allison! I figured it wasn't worth it either. Do you know how much the basic plan is per day ?

I'm sorry, I don't know off the top of my head and it can vary by season. Have you looked at the dining plan board? I bet you can find information there.

Have you considered if the TIW card would work for you? I think it is more flexible as it is a discount not a specific plan and can be used with the purchase of alcohol and if doesn't matter where you stay.

What is TIW stand for? Where could I inquire about this card? Thanks
