I am trading into DVC and will be staying at OKW. I am going with me girlfriend, sister, her husband and two girls ages 3 and 4, my parents and two aunts. My question is it worth it for use to purchase the dining plan are just use one of the grocery services and have food deliveried and cook a few nights then go out a few nights. We have three room so I don't know how close are rooms will be together for us all to eat in one room. I will be thier the week of feb 21st. If anyone has any tips about anything that would be great. I have not been since MGM now Hollywood studios opened. Thanks

do you have at least 1-bedroom?

otherwise you are in studios - cooking can be a problem in a studio - but I manage to do it. double your cooking before hand - freeze it then bring it with you.then you are warming up in the mircowave.

you can buy stuff that is only for mircowave - but read the labels - some of these are high in salt. be sure to look at your local grocery stores for these first.

you can order grocery from DVC or outside vendor.

have food allergies - now Disney definitely tried. but one of worst allergies is pepper - asking a chef to leave off the pepper is a problem. So cook for my health - and don't want to wait in the restuarant for hours - when I can do it faster.

If you are planning to get the ADRs and plan your meals, if you really enjoy dining out and plan to eat out at rather expensive places, then I think the dining plan is a good deal. But if you don't want your ADRs to rule your schedule or if grabbing a sandwich for lunch or a yogurt for breakfast then running to a ride is just as good as doing a buffet, then I say pay oop. We like having breakfast and nibbles in the room. Besides, having everyone in your group hungry for the same kind of food at the same time could be a real trick. Unless it is important that you are paying the bills for everyone-then it might be easier to pay for everything from one room bill rather than distributing money to lots of people. If money is no object, DDP is great (DxDP is even better!) but you will save money going oop and buying groceries.

We won't go without the DDP. It's just easy, especially, like someone already said, if you want to get into some of the unique, wonderful restaurants that Disney has to offer. If you're just doing burgers and fries, try the counter serve dining plan. We don't like to waste vacation time cooking/cleaning/transportation to and from the resort to do the above. The only thing we use our kitchen for is breakfast and snacks after a day of park hopping (cookies and such). Enjoy your vacation!!!!
