Dining plan, yes or no?

I will be in Disney may 21-31 with 3 nights offsite and then 7 nights at CSR. It will be me, my husband and our five year old daughter. Here is the list of places I will be trying for:
Akershus Breakfast
Sci-Fi lunch(burgers)
Crystal Palace Breakfast
Chef Mickeys Breakfast
Ohana Breakfast

It just doesn't seem the dining plan is worth it unless you have some expensive dinners mixed in. If I were to get the dining plan I would probably switch Chef Mickeys to dinner and add Hoop de Doo review or maybe Ohana dinner. I think I would be better off without the plan but need some convincing that I am not making a mistake. I would also like to go to Beaches and Cream and my husband is looking foward to going offsite to Sonics and Steak and Shake since we don't have them in CT. We will have a rental car.

If I were planning my TS meals to be breakfast and lunch, I would not do the dining plan. We do it because it fits in with our eating style on vacation. We always do a TS dinner on vacation, and IMO the DDP is more worth it for TS dinners rather than breakfasts or lunch. We also always do CS at a theme park for lunch. So the DDP fits right into our normal eating patterns. Something to consider. But for many of your meals, it is a fixed price so you can check the All Ears site and see if the DDP would actually save you money or cost you extra.

I agree that if you are going for TS at lunch the dining plan might not be the best for you. Our family does like the dining plan but we usually go when it is free. We love Sonic and Steak and Shake too. A Sonic just opened up about 20 minutes from our house here in South Jersey. WooHoo. We went to a Steak and Shake for the first time this summer in Myrtle Beach, SC. It was great. Hope they are mocing north soon too.

You can always look at the menus on allears.net and compare prices. For my family the DDP is worth it because we love to eat at TS'. However this isn't the case for every family.
