dining plan with online check in

Hi everyone!!
Im sure this has been asked before and im sure with more looking i could find my answer, but i appreciate all of yalls experiences and tips much more

We are spending one night at another disney resort the night before we check in to POLY, where we booked our package for the rest of the week.
We would like to go straight to the park the day we switch resorts without going to the resort first, so online check in is a great option. We are however planning on using a dining credit that afternoon and im wondering if online check in automatically activates your dining plan, or is it more comlicated than that.
Should we be good to go, or should i work in a stop at the hotel in the morning before going to the park?

I would just hate to enjoy our meal and then be told "oh it says you dont have a dining plan" when we pay.

Anyone have recent experience with this?

Yes - once you check in online your dining credits are active and ready to use. If for some reason you encounter a problem at your first meal - which you shouldn't - you can charge the meal to your room account and then have it corrected at guest services at your resort later.
