If I were to book a room at POR for six nights and purchased the dining plan, would I have to get a six or seven day plan? If I purchased a six day plan for the six nights on the reservation, could I use meal credits on the seventh day (check-out day)? Our plans are to stay at POR prior to moving into BCV for an additional stay. If I could carry those “credits” over for the balance of our BCV stay, it would be a great plan to purchase. I now have the DDE plan but it ends prior to our stay. :rolleyes1

A six night stay would give you six days of dining. You can spread them out over the 7 days, though. But they expire at midnight of the day you check out at POR. You'll have to purchase tickets, too, with your reservation at POR.

You purchase the plan for the number of nights that you are there. From what I understand the points expire by midnight of the morning you checked out. In other words, if you check out Friday morning, you may use your credits up until midnight Friday even though you checked out.

I guess your both saying that I can use the six day plan over seven days…check-in day until midnight of check-out day. If I am a DVC member and have an AP would I have to purchase a ticket in order to get the plan?

If you are staying on points at BCV, you don't need to purchase a ticket. If you are not staying on points, paying cash to Disney, you'll need to purchase a ticket.

You will need to purchase at least a one day park ticket to be on the dining plan for the POR portion of your stay. To add the plan to the DVC portion of your stay, no park ticket is required.

If you are trying for an AP discount on your POR room, you will not be abe to add dining to the POR portion. The dining is part of a "package" and AP discounts only applies to "Room only" reservations.
