I will be going next Sunday for 6 days/5 nights. We are staying on Disney property and got a package with a 5 day Magic Your Way base tickets. My party has 3 people: my 2 neices who are 14 and 9 and then me. My friend, her mother and 5 year old daughter are also going. She isn't getting a dining plan beacuse it would be a waste for her daughter, she doesn't eat very much. My friend is not planning on spending much on food per day. My co-workers tell me I should get the dining plan but I am hesitant to get it because my 14 year old neice has to get an "adult" plan. It's a 'hit or miss' with eating with both of them. I need some advice as I only have a couple more days to decide to add it on. I'd like to be able to eat with my friend but it would be nice to not have to pay for food each time . (as it will be on a cc)

QSDP saves almost NOTHING so forget it.
If you want some Table service i did find the reg dining plan to be acceptable, not an amazing savings but nice to know its already paid for.

If you go to the dining section of this website or "allears" dining section, you can find current menus at resorts and theme park restaurants. You can price out what you think you will order and compare it to the price of the plan - that way you will be able to figure out if you will benefit from purchasing the plan or not. For example, in DTD, if you are going to eat at Earl of Sandwich, you can probably eat for $10- $13 per person (sandwich, drink and dessert), if you are going to eat at Wolfgang Puck, you will probably double the price for each person. (Those are quick serve restaurants, table service is a lot more $ per person. I am just trying to give you a rough idea).

While the QSDP may not "save you anything," it does allow you to get things you may not get if you don't have it.

For instance, if you like sodas/milk/coffee with your meals, the QSDP allows you to get those. You also get a dessert with every meal, and you are on vacation, so having dessert may be part of that. You will also get TWO snacks each day. So when DNs want some popcorn or ice cream, you can say "YES!" and not worry about the money. You can also use some of your snack credits to get breakfast. AND having the QSDP will mean you can probably still eat with your friend as that will be where they are eating most of the time.

Now one draw back for you is your 9-yr old. She will have to get kids meals which may or may not be enough for her. Having the QSDP will limit her choices.

is the free dining plan available to you as then it would be so worth it and you can have snacks that you may not have had before:cheer2:

Thank you for the responses, I dont think I am eligible for the free dining plan. You have all been very helpful. :)
