Dining plan reservations question

We have the dining plan and I've made my reservations online for dining. I didn't link them to my dining plan though...is that going to be an issue? Why would I need to link them to begin with? Is there some perk to doing that?

The only time where linking your DDP to your ADR's is a factor is if you plan on eating at a meal that requires payment at the time you make your reservation, such as CRT or one of the dinner shows. If you plan on using dining credits for one of these meals, if you link your plan to the ADR you will not be charged for the meal (but you will still need to give them a CC in order to put a hold on the reservation).

ok I do have reservations for Fantasmic package and they took my cc number as a hold on the reservation. Can I just tell them when we get there that night that we'll be using the dining plan or do I need to call back and make sure it's linked to our DDP before our trip?

The F! package is just a CC guarantee, which is different than the pre-pay experiences above. When you get to the restaurant, simply tell them you're on the dining plan (and, they'll likely ask), and you're good to go.

Only the experiences that take full payment in advance matter for that. These are the aforementioned CRT and the dinner shows. Any restaurant/experience that simply takes a CC guarantee (F!, CG, Akershus) won't matter one way or the other.

Just to add to what Cafeen said, if you were to book one of the dinner shows or CRT but weren't sure if you wanted to use DDP credits or not, so you paid for it with your CC, but then you decide last moment to use dining plan credits, they will accept your credits and refund your CC, however the length of time it takes for the refund to show up varies from right away to a few weeks later.

Just a little something to keep in mind in case it comes up. Afterall, ADR's can be like a living, breathing, constantly changing thing.
