Dining plan questions?

We have 3 rooms booked. I know that everybody in the same room must have the same dining plan but our situation is that we have two rooms on one reservation number, for dh and I and our younger children and then another room with a seperate reservation number for our 3 older sons.

All 3 rooms are on a Grand Gathering number together though.

Our 3 sons don't really think they want the dining plan? They have plans for other things like golfing and boating, so won't always be with us and the few big TS meals we do have planned to have with them are actually places in DTD which I believe means the restaurants won't be on the dining plan.

What I was wondering is, our one son will be with us more than the other two(he isn't as big of a golf fan) and if he was to be at one of our TS breakfast or dinners, could we use one of our credits to pay for his meal?

The reason I ask is, if we get the Deluxe Dining plan, we'll have a few extra credits so it would be great if we could use them on him.

Thanks for any help or info you can give:-)

They won't let you.

It will have the number of adults and children listed on the KTTW card and they will only be allowed to deduct that amount. So if you have 2 adults and one child they can only take off that amount per meal 2 adult TS and 1 child TS.

What restaurant in DTD are they thinking of as there are quite a few on the DDP. T-Rex and the Rainforest are not on the DDP.

Those were the two:-) LOL

Thanks for the info, that's good to know. I wasn't sure how it worked! I guess we'll have to reevaluate.

One more question if you don't mind.

If we just get the regular dining plan with one TS and one CS, and our sons took one of our KTTW card , while we are all together in a park say, would they be able to use one of our CS credits at a CS place, while we use my dhs KTTW card for our TS meal? They don't want to do some of the character meals we are doing.

Not trying to pull a fast one if it's wrong, just wanting to use up all our dining credits. If it's not the way it works, that's fine too, we'll just think about our options some more.

That should work! My daughter and her friend took the ktw card and never had a problem using it. We were using it at the same time at different CS.:goodvibes

You aren't suppose to. It would work but you need to be in the same park as your tickets will be on the KTTW card, unless you have an AP.

Did you look into the QSDP for the older boys? It might be too much food, not sure how much they eat but it doesn't have any TS. You get the refillable mug (one per person), 2 CS meals, and 2 Snacks per night.

Thanks, it just seems so silly, if I'm willing to give up a meal that they can't use it, but I guess that's how Disney makes their money:laughing:

I'm not sure if the QSDP would work. I'll have to find out if anything at the Golf courses is available on it. I know they will be eating some of their lunches there. Plus we are CL, so they will grab breakfast many days there. I was just thinking of the odd meal here or there. Thanks for the info:-)
