Dining Plan Question

I am a DVC Member staying at a DVC resort. I have a current AP. If I purchase the Dining Plan for myself, can I use it to pay for a visiting friend's meal too? She isn't staying with me, just spending the day with me. She has no park passes and we won't be entering a park that day. I'm not a big eater, so I know I won't use all the credits on the plan myself. I'm not trying to get around the rules, just wondering.

You can use your meal credits anyway you want, Disney doesn’t really care who uses them.
