appetizers are no longer included? Back in 2012, we got an app, entree and dessert with every table service. Here now and have been told at both out table service (house of blues in Disney springs and la hacienda in Mexico Epcot) that it was entree dessert and soft drink.

Apps were not included in 2012. They haven't been included for a very long time. We've done free dining a number of times since 2008 and I know apps have not been included on any of our visits with the dining plan.

Appetizers haven't been included on the regular dining plan (1 snack, 1QS, 1TS) for a LONG time. Perhaps you had a different plan in 2012? THese days you get an entree, drink, dessert or a full buffet on the regular plan.

Correct, appetizers are not included in the regular DDP. I believe the change went into effect prior to 2011. When we went on our honeymoon in April 2011, appetizers were not included at that time.

Appetizers haven't been included on the regular DDP in years (since about 2009.) Either you had the deluxe plan in 2012 or you're remembering incorrectly.

A deluxe or perhaps a Fantasmic Dinner? We've done the Fantasmic dinner at Mama Melrose's a couple times and they offer an appetizer with every adult meal.

Only the deluxe plan includes appetizers. And then only at lunch and dinner.

The regular dining plan dropped the appetizers starting in 2008. That was the same year the deluxe plan was introduced. That was also the year that included tips were dropped from the plans.

So you likely did not get appetizers with every meal in 2012, unless you had the deluxe plan, did nothing but buffets or AYCE, or went to special package meals like Fantasmic or Candlelight Processional which include appetizers on both plans.

Thanks everyone. A travel agent booked our last trip and we booked this ourselves. Didn't know there was a difference. A full trip report will follow when I get back unless someone has a question.

Sounds like the TA booked the Deluxe Dining Plan for your last trip.

With the regular dining plan you are entitled to an entree, dessert and standard non-alcoholic fountain beverage at lunch and dinner. Breakfast does not include dessert. With the regular dining plan on this trip you will get an appetizer when you dine at the dinner shows (e.g. Hoop De Doo Revue), fixed price meals (e.g. CRT, Akershus, Fantasmic Dining Package at MM or HBD), or if you order the prix fixe option at restaurants that offer it (e.g. Les Chefs).
