Dining Plan question

We have reservations for AKL Kidani for November 6-10 with a waitlist in for BWV. Our 180 day sis coming up soon for ADR's. We want to do the Dining Plan, but haven't put it on yet. Is it better to wait to see if out waitlist clears (I know, dream on...) or put it on before we make ADR's. DH said the DVC CM said that we should wait so that it doesn't get messed up if our waitlist comes through. If we are on the Dining Plan, do we still have to put a credit card hold on ADR's?

I think I read on another thread that they just transfer the DDP to the new reservation. But, you can pay for it up until 2 days prior to arrival, so there really is no reason to buy it now. I would probably just wait and keep the money in your pocket for now, instead of giving it to the mouse.

You will still need to hold reservations with a credit card, even with the DDP. They take the CC so they can charge you the $10/person no-show/late cancel fee.

I have no experience but I know that at least 1 person said they got credited for the amount when their waitlist cleared and the dining plan was canceled and they had to readd it to the trip.

I might have misunderstood your question, but you do not need to have the Dining Plan on your reservation to make your ADRs

You don't need ddp to make adrs. All adrs need a cc now because of the no show fee policy. I would wait to add on the ddp at the very end, doesn't make sense to pay for it now.

Thanks! It think we will continue to wait and put it on our reservation closer to November. Like you said, better we have it than the mouse!
Makes sense about the credit card. Even people with the DDP could still be no-shows!

Oh, I knew that I didn't have to have the DDP to make ADR's. I was just wondering about the possibility of the DDP getting lost if our wait list worked out.
