Dining plan question

We are taking a trip to Disney in September with my parents. We all booked last year for the free dining this year. We are staying at POP so we have the QSDP. My question is this. My parents decided they wanted to upgrade to table service but now they might need to go back to QSDP to save some money. Are we able to do this?

If they downgrade within 45 days of arrival they will probably be charged a $50 change fee.

For them to downgrade while you keep the regular plan, they would have to be on a separate room reservation from you. If they are on the same room reservation, everyone must have the same dining plan. They can't have the QS while everyone else has the regular; you'd all have to downgrade.

that as long as it before the 45 day mark there won't be a penalty. I know that you can't add a dining plan under 72 hours before check-in, but not sure about downgrading time limits.

They are in a different room. There are several in my family going and my parents are the only one doing table service. I just wasnt sure if they were allowed to go from having free QSDP to upgrading to table service and then downgrading to free QSDP plan again.

Yes, as long as they do it no later than 3 days before arrival. If they want to avoid change fees they should do it no later than 45 days before arrival.

Be aware if they decide to upgrade again later and within 7 days of check in, they will be charge $50. that's what I was told whne I changed my plan last month.
