We've never been on the dining plan, but are considering it for our trip this summer. My question is about the counter service credits and kids. Are there kid's menus for CS places like there are for TS restaraunts? I think my kids would like "regular" items from alot of the CS places and not the same old pizza, nuggets, PB&J I see on the TS menus.

Also, one reason we were considering the dining plan is because we would like to do a few character meals and they seem like a good use of credits. Do most people usually go to the character dinners when on the DP becasue you get the most bang for your buck? (dinner being more expensive).

Yes, it depends on your CS but there are different kids menus. Some places will have different things. Normally you have your nuggets like usual, but depending on the place they will have taco's, chicken, etc. There are different choices.

We have done the dining plan several years now. Its nice because your food is paid for before hand. If you want to order the most expensive steak on the menu, you can, you already paid for the dining plan. If I paid out of pocket for food, I would buy the cheapest thing...but with the dining plan you don't have too. It is expensive, but its very easy to use and we have been very pleased.

Earlier on when tips were included it was a better deal, we still come out ahead on the dining plan, but not as much. But we would never eat at all the places we have eaten without being on the dining plan.

We have used both the 3 sit down meals and the regular dining plan and found that the regular dining plan (2 snacks, 1 quick service, and 1 sit down) was more than enough food. The kids really liked the quick service and the sit down dinner was more for us adults to sit down and rest a bit. The deluxe with the 3 full meals was really too much food, however you could use the credits for more character meals if you wanted.

I tend to be a planner and so have used the Search tool to check the menus for the CS...

The menus for all the CS are listed for the kids. You can also search for different cuisines in case your kids only like certain foods or want to mix it up some.

We have always used the Dining plan, as the peace of mind makes the trip much easier.
