dining plan question?

Hope this is the right place to post this! I am trying to figue out how to save some $$$ with our next trip and I came up with a question about the dining plan. If I get a room only code and buy disct tickets can I add the dining plan with out buying the tickets as part of my package?? TIA!

Nope, to get the dining plan, it has to be part of a package, meaning room, at least a 1 day ticket, and dining plan. If you get a pin code for %off your room, you can add full price tickets and ddp to that.

You can only the purchase a dining plan if you meet one of the following:

1) You are staying as part of a room + tickets + dining resort package. Room-only PIN codes can be used for this sort of package.

2) At least one member of your reservation is an annual pass holder. The pass holder must be present at check-in. This type of reservation must still be booked as a (ticketless) package, meaning the normal pay-in-full rules prior to check-in.

3) You are staying at a DVC resort using DVC points (your own, rented [dining plan must be arranged by the owner you are renting from], or RCI timeshare trade).

So a pin code meaning one that comes to you personally as opposed to a public discount room discount? I know there is a percentage room discount I was looking at for the April to December time period and so if I use that discount code I can't get the dining plan? Also, 2nd question - is there a minimum nights stay for dining plan? thanks...

Public room-only rates also qualify for packages. Typically, the only discounts that don't apply to packages are special rates for groups, etc.

The maximum is 14 nights (the maximum reservation length). UK guests traveling under certain packages can go as long as 21 nights. If you want to go longer, you'd have to book multiple packages.

Well cool !! I have quite the plan going for my (19 yr old dd and I) ...subject to change, of course! We may switch resorts a couple of times... and then end at my dvc, so I just may be able to turn the dining plan on and off and back on to help me out... I like that the credits don't end till midnight of check out day. My dd and I share counter service meals sometimes, so this should work out pretty well for us! thanks!

excellent thanks! I have always gotten my tickets through disney and always have the dining plan so I never knew what the deal was as far as not buying tickts from disney! What if you use the YES program can you add the dining plan if you have those tickets??? THANKS IN ADVANCE!!!
