Forgive a newbie if this isn't the right forum. I am planning a trip, where we will be staying in a DW hotel most of the time, but will have a couple of days staying elsewhere. We are getting a package with the free dining. Is it tied to your hotel stay or to your tickets? If we have a hotel for 6 days/5 nights, and tickets for 8 days, how many days of dining do we get -- 5, 6, or 8?

The dining plan is attached to your per night stay. So, if you are staying for five nights, you have five nights worth (1 CS, 1 S, 1 TS per night). The credits don't expire until midnight of the day you check out though so if you have anything you don't use one day you can on that sixth day. We are not breakfast eaters and this is always a nice way to stretch out the plan and make it work for us.

Welcome to the DIS! :)

Yes, your dining credits are tied to the number of nights on your WDW resort reservation. They will expire the day after your last night in the resort. This also holds true to your use of the Magical Express and Extra Magic Hours. Only for WDW resort guests.
You'll have to look at your schedule and make sure you take full advantage of EMH and DDP while you are a resort guest!
Hope this helps! Have a great trip!
