Dining Plan Question!

Hi everyone! We're going on our first DVC vacation in October (yay!). We're staying at Saratoga Springs for 7 nights. We went last year during the free dining plan (when we ended up purchasing) and know what a great deal it is. My question is, do you have to buy the dining plan for the length of stay? Or can we purchase like 5 days of it instead? I just think some of the we'll either eat in because of the kitchen or be offsite. Thanks for any help!

You must purchase the dining plan for the entire length of your stay. The only way to not do this is by breaking up your stay with 2 resorts and buying the dining plan for one and not the other.

I could be wrong, but I don't think you necessarily have to stay in different resorts. You have to have two separate, unlinked reservations and that may or may not mean switching rooms. But I think you can stay in the same resort -- just might have to move within the resort.

OTOH, doing DDP for only part of your stay gives you the perfect excuse to try another resort!

Your correct Jim, we have done split stays twice and will again in December. We wouldn't use the DDP for a long stay. Too much food. Next April we are looking at the Deluxe DDP for our split stay at AKV. The credits are good until midnight of your check out date. That way we pay for 2 nights of DDP and eat for 3.
