Dining Plan Question

This will be our first time to use the DDP and with the changes in the menus that I have been reading I have a question. If we went to a restaurant that offered (specific items only) for our two DS's could we just use two adult TS for them for that night out of our adult TS (coupons or whatever they are referred to as). I realize that we would then be short on adult TS but the boys would be able to eat Decent food, not predescribed undesireable items.

Unfortunately, the system doesn't provide a means to ensure that the credits you use that night are "adult credits". Until the child credits and adult credits are separated (which may never happen) you cannot do as you suggest. Sorry.

This whole adult/child credit issue is very controversial, so the moderators have asked that if you have any further questions regarding it, beyond what it says in the brochure, you contact Disney Dining directly.

No, because currently it is up to the server to police the dining plan. The credits aren't broken down electronically on your card by adult/child credits so there is no way for them to be sure you wouldn't use the credits for adult meals your entire trip.

Part of the server's job is to read your card (it will state how many adults & children are on the plan) and then make sure you order from their menu accordingly.

My kids did fine with the kid's meals...but they aren't terribly picky and like healthy food. My DH and I also shared portions of our adult meals with them, also.

When we were there in May most restaurants allowed you to subsitute certain items on the kids meals. I really didn't have any problems in terms of them eating and they are usually pickey.
