Ok we are going to be vacationing from May 5-11th 2007. We have a 6 day dining plan. On our last day will we be able to use our meal plan for breakfast before check out? I know this sounds silly but I'm not sure how this works. we will be arriving in the afternoon on the 5th of May 2007. Thanks for any help!

I believe as long as you have meals/snacks remaining - yes you can use them on your last day - we did last year

When we checked into the Poly 8-26 we were told we could use our credits up until midnight of our check-out day. I think it's because some people visit the parks even after they've checked out. And, yes, we ate breakfast at out resort after we checked out.

I believe you can use your credits until midnight on the day of checkout, even after you have already checked out.

Thanks so much for your help everyone! I feel better adding a breakfast in the mix.

If you arrive on the 5th and check out on the 11th and you only have 6 days dining, it will depend on when you use your credits.

If you only use your table service on the 5th you will be left with a snack and counter service credit on the 11th. You can use your snack and counter service for breakfast that day.

Unused DDP credits expire at midnight after checkout.

There have been a few isolated problems of people going to a meal on DDP and being told the computer showed zero credits. If that happens, ask the restaurant to call the resort you just checked out of and they will be able to sort it out for you.

Yes your credits are good till midnight the day you check out. What we did was we went to service desk at our resort and got them to verify what we had left. She printed out all the restaruants we used and what we had left. We still had 8 cs and 14 snacks left after we checked out. Never had a problem using them.

We will have children travelling with us on the DDP. When you get the printout of meals left (counter service and table service), does it designate which are adults and which are children? If not, how have people kept track of them in the past? TIA

Here is some information regarding the 2007 dining plan from mousesavers.com:

  • One table service meal – includes appetizer, entrée, dessert (or full buffet) plus non-alcoholic beverage and gratuity/service charge
  • One counter service meal – includes entrée and dessert (or complete combo meal) and non-alcoholic beverage
  • One snack from a wide variety of options
For example, a guest with a length of stay of 3-nights/4-days who books Disney’s Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining would receive three table service meals, three counter service meals, and three snacks per person, for their stay.

Meal plan must be purchased for entire length of stay and entire party (5 night stay includes 5 days of meals). Applicable gratuity/service charge included. Children ages 3-9 must order from children's menu if available. Meal entitlements for children, ages 3-9, are not transferable to adult guests in the party, age 10 and older. Appetizer and dessert features are available at lunch and dinner only. One juice is included during breakfast.

One Table-Service meal may be exchanged for One Character Dining Experience* (Cinderella’s Royal Table will require 2 Table-service meals). Two Table-Service meals may be exchanged for one of the following: One Signature Dining Experience (special high-end restaurants), One Disney Dinner Show (category 2 or 3 seating) or One Private Dining (room service) meal. (Download the package brochure below for a complete list of dining location options). If you are part of a Grand Gathering, Two Table-Service meals may be exchanged to attend one of the Grand Gatherings experiences.

Reservations strongly suggested for Character Dining Experiences, Table-Service restaurants and Signature Dining Experiences up to 180 days prior to arrival by calling 407-WDW-DINE. Reservations are required for Disney Dinner Shows. Merchandise or photo imaging products that may be offered at dining experiences are not included except at Cinderella's Royal Table.

Reservations required for a Grand Gathering experience and may be made up to 180 days in advance but no later than 3 days prior to the experience date. Experience includes gratuities/service charge and one non-alcoholic beverage.

Everyone in the room must be booked on the same package and ticket options. Packages and tickets plus their options or components (including dining entitlements) are nontransferable. Dining entitlements expire at midnight on the day of check-out. Theme Park tickets and options must be used within 14 days of first use unless the No Expiration Option is purchased. Some activities and events are priced separately. Visiting more than one Theme Park on the same day requires the Park Hopper option.

Here are some tips from mousesavers.com as well:

Helpful Tips for Making the Most of the Dining Plan

  • All of the meal credits for everyone in your party are "pooled." For instance, if you have a family of 4 and stay for 5 nights, you'll have a "pool" of 20 table service credits to use. Credits are not designated as "adult" or "child" credits -- they are all the same.

  • You can use the meal credits whenever you want during the vacation. If you want to eat two table service meals one day and three counter service meals the next day, no problem.
  • Servers at the table-service restaurants receive an automatic 18% gratuity based on the total retail cost of the meal you select. The gratuity is covered by your Dining Plan credits, so you don't need to tip further unless you feel the service warrants exceptional compensation.

  • The list of participating restaurants changes occasionally, so be sure to ask if the restaurant participates, especially when you check in for a table service meal.

  • For many people the plan provides far too much food in each sitting. You may want to consider sharing the counter service meals. For instance, a family of four might try ordering two adult counter service meals and sharing the food, possibly supplementing the meal by purchasing a few a la carte items (like extra side orders or drinks). If this works for you, you may be able to stretch your counter service meals to cover two meals a day!

  • You can use table service meal credits at a counter service restaurant. Likewise you can use counter service credits for snacks (but be prepared for the cashier to think you're nuts). You'll lose some value, but gain flexibility.

  • If you don't want the drink that is included with your counter service meal, take a bottle of water to go.

  • Fresh fruit can be used as a dessert, so if you don't want dessert when eating a counter service meal, take a banana or apple to go and use it as a snack later in the day!

  • Any leftover snacks or counter-service meals can be used to pack a lunch for the trip home. Your resort's food court has packable food.

  • If you have snack credits left over at the end of your vacation, many of the counter service restaurants offer Mickey-shaped rice krispy treats on a stick that you can get with snack credits. These make cute gifts to take home for friends and family -- or you can eat 'em on the plane!
  • MouseSavers.com reader Dawn from South Carolina offers this information: "we were enjoying Downtown Disney one pleasant Florida evening and were searching for a place to eat. We wanted to use a counter service meal if possible and we noticed Wolfgang Puck Express on the list of counter service restaurants. After checking out the menu, we couldn't believe it was counted as just a
counter service. We asked the cashier and she said it was, with the exception of the meatlof and ravioli. My family of five had a wonderful meal worth over $70 for just a counter service credit (drink and dessert included)! Great food too!"
  • Another good place to use counter service credits is Pepper Market at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort. This restaurant could be called a "partial-service" location. The wait staff will seat you and bring you drinks. You go to various stations and pick the food you want from a broad selection. Options include steaks and other high-end items. Normally there is a 10% gratuity assessed at this restaurant, due to the partial service, but that's included when you using Dining Plan credits.

No, it only prints out # of credits used/left over.

We actually lost track of our meals since some days some or all of us would skip the CS meal ... it's simply too much food. I have no idea how many adult vs child credits we used & if we used them "honestly" according to the # of adults vs children we had in our party. We just couldn't keep track w/out a journal! (We were there for 7 days & there were 5 of us plus an 2yo so we started out w/ a lot of credits.)

Ditto what 4boysmom said. Also, it wasn't a problem for us at TS meals, since we decided just to use 4 credits (there were 4 of us) at each meal so we didn't have to worry about leftover credits and how to use them without looking like we were trying to cheat.

At CS meals, we definitely ended up with more adult meals than child (we had 20 of each), though I didn't know how many until we got home and I added it up. This was due more to my kids' tastes (sometimes they wanted kids' meals, while other times they preferred the adult menu choices) and the fact that we usually shared (only once did I actually order 3 adult meals all at the same time) than because of some insidious plot we hatched to stick it to the mouse.

HTH!

Let's see if I have this right. When you eat at a TS or CS your reciept will show you your balance of remaining credits. Is there a way to easily check your balance? :thumbsup2

Yes, & you also get a receipt showing your balance after buying snacks. We asked at the Main St Bakery if we could see our snack balance w/out buying anything but she said, no, they could only bring it up AFTER we bought something! I think the only place to check balances w/out making a purchase is at your hotel.
