We're staying at BWV for one night, but will have 2 days in the park. Does anyone know if I can get a 2-day dining plan or can I only get one day since we are staying just one night?

Also, how good of a deal is the dining plan? It is 37.99, but I figure the snack is worth less than $5, lunch is about $10, and dinner about $25? Maybe my numbers are off, I haven't eaten at WDW for a few years. Does the dining plan include the tip for the table service meal? Thanks in advance.

I love, love, love the dining plan. In fact, we did not become DVC members last year just because it meant no dining plan. But then, when I go on vacation, I want to sit down and EAT. Also, we have kids that are very well behaved in restaurants. Tip is included in the plan.

I could, realistically, eat counter service and just order entrees or do buffets at table service and have it cost less than the dining plan (last trip we paid out of pocket for one table service meal and it was less than the dining plan) - BUT we did not order appetizers or dessert. Also, if you are willing to hop around to eat at the nicer restaurants - you can make out like a bandit. We've eaten table service meals that were almost 200$ (family of four). That meal (at the Coral Reef) took almost two hours. I've got friends that have restless toddlers or watch what they eat and they don't like the dining plan at all.

If you do dining plan, make sure to make dining reservations in advance.

The Dining Plan is tied to the number of nights of your stay (not days) - so for your 2 day/1 night stay at the BWV, you can get the DP for 1 night - i.e., 1 TS, 1CS and 1 snack credit. That's if you are staying on points or booked for cash through MS.

If you booked for cash through CRO/WDWTC, you cannot get the DP unless you booked it as part of a package.

The DP includes tax and gratutity.

Opinions differ on whether it is a good deal - depends on your particular circumstances. There are lots of opinions on this over on the Restaurants Forum - they even have an entire sub-forum devoted solely to the Dining Plan.

Best wishes -

Don't forget to include tax, plus tip on the table service. When I was there 2 weeks ago with my niece (age 12), we did character dinners everynight and with the tax and tip it was usually around $70 for both of us, which pretty much covered the cost of the plan. Counter services were about $25 for both of us. We used our snack credits for drinks, about $2 each.

Thanks for the info, I think we'll be adding it on. If nothing else, it will be nice not to have to pay for the meals out of pocket, and we won't feel like we have to eat cheap.

I just want to see if I have this straight since I am new ;)

You can book at a DVC resort on points and get the dining plan for $37.99/night, and I am guessing that is per person also. It is an all or nothing kind of thing where you purchase it for everynight, or not at all. One more question .. can you book your room, then add on the dining plan later, or does it all have to be done when you make your ressie?

You've got it right so far; and yes, you may add the plan after your initial booking, but you must add it BEFORE you arrive at the resort. Regardless of when you add the plan, you'll pay for it upon check-in.

Our counter service meals for 2 averaged $30.00 with desert and drinks, Table service were $58-114.00 we Loved it. That didn't count the snacks. We really got our money's worth on it.
